Forums - Nintendo - Will Secret of Mana ever come to the VC?

And Secret of Evermore wasn't much of a game, sorry. I will always hate Square for bringing that game to America, while the true sequel to Secret of Mana (Seiken Densetsu 3) was a Japan-only release.

Secret of Evermore was a fantastic game with a quirky sense of humor and a story that was better than SD3 on almost every level.

They were both great games, but don't be so harsh to SoE.  It doesn't deserve that kind of criticism.

I expect S-E to both remake the game and put it on the VC, for maximum sales of course.

I hope they do the same for Evermore and Seiken Densetu 3 (Mana is really SD2 and Final Fantasy Adventure/Sword of Mana is SD1).

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs

I don't know if this was already posted in another thread today, so I just revive this thread for a moment as I just found out that Secret of Mana will be released on the Japanese VC in September: http://www.vc-reviews.com/games/snes/secret_of_mana

You're my hero! Hope for a North American release in 2011 lives!

No, no Square games on VC yet, but damn it, they should already!

Yeah, back in the day I had all my spells at the 9 level, and I think all my weapons too. If I remember correctly, you could only have spells leveled up to your current total number of seeds, and, similarly, you could only level up your weapons to the current version number of the weapon (so not after your got the level 8 sword orb, but once you took that orb to the blacksmith guy and he upgraded the weapon).

Those alternate spell animations were badass. And I think they always took off like 950-999 damage.

Damn, I'm making myself really want to play this game again. Curse you Wii and your dearth of RPGS!

King's Knight and Actraiser say hello.

Secret of Evermore ruled. Despite the fact that the game was actually pretty buggy. Using Corrosion on the final boss was almost guaranteed to cause the game to freeze. Another time, I went a back way to the Gothica, and ended up screwing myself because I went around that rat boss and his barricade remained in place--but he wasn't there. And in another, I picked up two of three items I needed to reach the final area, delivered them, and then picked up the third. That old scientist guy told me I still needed to grab the other two items despite the fact that I already did.

Secret of Evermore had the major problem of not being Secret of Mana, which is what a lot of folks were expecting. Taking it for what it was, it was a fun game with a great sense of humor ("we're all just sprites being controlled by the whims of our controller-touting overlord!") but most folks I know never gave it that chance.

Meh, their loss.

I don't see why not, I have never played it.. but there aren't many SE titles in the VC D=

I think it's cool that it's coming out on VC. I already have the Super Famicom cartridge (Seiken Densetsu 2), so I'm not going to buy it, but it's still good that it's coming out! I just started playing through the game again actually, hehe.(good Japanese practice for me)

Me since the games were revealed, the fanboys since E3."

I also hope the translate and released the sequel, that was an amazing game.
