Their ads on TV for R&C on the PS3. They were CG and they blew this away which makes me think this is using the ingame engine.

EDIT: I just got the HD version off mega upload and when i paused it and zoomed in during the video it is 100% using a ingame engine.  You can see lower res textures and his outfit seems to blend together with the straps.

your right, in fact when i first downloaded the RC demo and booted game up, and you start off on the game in the beginning, i was still holding my pad thinking that this is still part of the fmv scene

then i tilted stick forward and couldnt belive it absolutly stunning, so surely insomniac can make resistance 2 equaly or even more stunning than RC

...not much time to post anymore, used to be awesome on here really good fond memories from VGchartz...

Damn, that didn't help me at all. I really can't wait for this game. The background looks absolutely stunning.

Based on the way Ratchet and Clank Future looked, I'm going to say the graphical leap is believable. Insomniac is one of the most professional, rational developers out there and I'm sure they realize that to use CGI for their teaser trailer only to let people down on June 13th would be a bad move. Get used to it guys this is Resistance 2. They know the PS3 inside and out. Trust me.

=)     They also know how to have fun.

This game is once again my most anticipated title of the year! Will be great when i get my hands on it :D

Should now allow for much more stuff, Insonmiac regarding Resistance 2 development:

"Propriety game systems are now being heavily farmed out to the PS3's SPUs, keeping the central PPU as a sort of traffic cop that organizes what gets attention at any given moment. In simple terms, the game is taking much better advantage of the untapped potential of the console. In regard to visuals, the expanded use of the SPUs means more enemies on screen, significantly more complex AI from all of those foes and dramatically expanded options for special effects."

Ratchet & Clank: Tools of Destruction is a beatiful impressive game with lots of moving objects and solid smooth action in top notch quality, but the PS3 is a beast and the key to unlock the beast is to optimise and move bulk of the game engine over to the SPUs. In this regard Insomniac is ahead of the competition, redesigning their legacy engine for the PS3 which they started with Resistance: Fall of Man development.

Naughty Dog: "At Naughty Dog, we're pretty sure we should be able to see leaps between games on the PS3 that are even bigger than they were on the PS2."

PS3 vs 360 sales

This game looks good. MGS4 and now this may sway me to get a ps3.

Insomniac are fucking incredible, already on their 3rd PS3 game! Could be the most impressive game of this gen so far.

My god ... that looked amazing :o This could easily become a real killer IP . I would deffinatly like to see a Halo 3 like ad campaigne for it :D

I know but ...

well, I preferred, by A LOT, the 2005 E3 teaser of Killzone2.
It was not real time but, at least, it was really amazing.

It also wasn't a teaser. It was a full trailer.

This was a teaser and yes, that was in-engine (it was a level lead-in, just like you saw in the first game).

I like technology when its moving forward..

That is really a nice teaser trailer. The whole idea about "19 hours left to live" makes me curious about the story. I am getting really excited.
