Do you remember the Kinect?

I think he means there will be an optional bundle, while the option to the buy the console only will still exist.
Bet with Intrinsic:
The Switch will outsell 3DS (based on VGchartz numbers), according to me, while Intrinsic thinks the opposite will hold true. One month avatar control for the loser's avatar.
From Microsoft, I want them to continue to innovate the industry. Push features, online gaming, and quality. Leave Japan, the region is in a gaming rut and quite frankly, I don’t think the average Xbox gamer cares about what Japan produces. Focus and differentiate yourself to what you know your customer is. Invest more into gaming as a service. Let’s face it, Xbox gamers like to play socially online. Personally, I can’t recall the last time I put any effort into a single player campaign. Gears, Halo, Forza - excellent SP and multiplayer modes. All three I’ve barely touched the SP, but it’s the MP that keeps me coming back.
Sony: Well, I’m not part of their demographic so keep doing what you do best and have a nice day.
Nintendo: As a WiiU owner, I don’t see what the Switch has to offer me other than Mario Odyssey. I’m seeing a lot of remasters that barely look to have benefited a new generation. I’m an adult so a handheld means little to me. If I feel the need to game on the go, I have an IPhone for that. I’m not about to lug a tablet, carts, and a joycon around. I’m just not. Make a contemporary console or I’ll skip your next iteration as well.

Of course I do.That still dosent negate my point. This is all assuming that the price dosent skyrocket, which will obviously be a problem.
For all the mistakes that MS did, I applaud them for taking a chance with the kinect. The problem with it is that MS didnt know what to do with it, which is quite the oposite of Nintendo, which clearly uses the unique functionality of their hardware quite well(bar Wii U).
And this comment reminds me of something.People always complains of things being always the same, that companies dosent innovate. But when someone tries to do something, people get afraid because they dont like leaving their zone of confort. So yeah, I hope Sony and MS take a chance with something they think can improve the gaming experience, much like Nintendo does every single generation.
My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

More of the same. Stability, less trying weird stuff.
Also, 2 options, a box without a drive for those that do download all their stuff, it being cheaper as there is not drive. Then another with a blu-ray drive for those that like discs etc.
Honestly, it's not about the devices, it's about the game development. They need to stop faffing about. Stop trying to milk us from our money with crap micro transactions, stop spending 8 years developing 1 games, be more efficient. MS, Nintendo and Sony don't actually do this, most of their games are microtransaction free and the game speaks for itself, it's 3rd parties. We are pushing into the next generation and so far we've had 1 Fallout game, 1 Dragon Age, 1 Tekken, 1 (poor) Mass Effect. I look at future games and I think "What is there for me?" Just feels like beyond the annual release games, companies drag their heels.
This turned into more of a gripe on the industry...
Hmm, pie.
60FPS and at least 1080p requirement for every game.

Nintendo are making 64GB carts, so yeah it's possible. |

I've triwd explaining it to you already.

The problem with some of these innovations is that a lot of people probably just want to sit on their couch to relax and play games. Motion controls were terrible because they are not specific enough compared to using a controller and you usually had to move around too much, you also needed a decent amount of space. VR is awesome and can give you a great experience but you are also completely isolated from everything around you while playing. That would make it hard to play games with my wife or my kids.
I like my console, I just want to keep getting great games.

Pretty sure people didnt think Kingdom Hearts was a good idea.Pretty sure people didnt think that 3D was going to work out as well as it did.Pretty sure people thought that the game industry wouldnt work because it was silly.People were more than fine with offline games, then multiplayer games came along and are now considered normal. Most thought Nintendo would fall under with the Wii and the DS.Look at us now, with most consoles having motion controls of some kind(DS4 has a bit of that, and its almost the cornerstone of the PSVR), and many technological devices has some form of touchscreen.
Want more examples outside of gaming? No one thought that cellphones would be so essential to our lifes, but look at them now.The same for the internet.Imagine then the cars, which by the way didnt set the world on fire back when they were invented.
Botom line is, we dont know what we want until it is presented to us.If you are worried about a "tradicional gaming experience", which by the way changed radically over the course of the years, then there is always the PC for that.I personally dont want the industry to stagnate.

great games, because it doesn't help have the best system without good games
