2008 was when nintendo got there stock fixed for wii, and smash got the most benefit out of that, but no need to argue when smash is released ill happily eat crow if it's near SMO sales.

wii sales 2008
January 2008 274,000 February 2008 432,000 March 2008 721,000 April 2008 | 714,200 May 2008 | 675,100 June 2008 | 666,700 July 2008 | 555,000 August 2008 | 453,000 September 2008 687,00 October 2008 803,000 November 2008 2,040,000

December 2008 2,150,000

How in the world are April thru Dec sales relevant when talking about first month sales of a game that debuted in March?

Once again you are just making up random exuses while contradicting yourself.

ill see you when SSB releases, ill let the sales figures do the talking as usual. i'll happily eat crow if SSMB sales near SMO numbers, but are you willing to do the same?

Smash is already in the top 40 on the Amazon yearly chart, with no gameplay or release date given. The hype for this game is huge so far.

I agree, so far it appears (anecdotal of course) that Smash has more hype than even Odyssey and Zelda. I dont even think Switch needs Pokemon this year to hit that 20m mark.

Lmao stop pls. SSB is a much bigger system seller than 3d mario. It proved it on 3 differe t systems already

I'm not talking talking about 3d mario in general, i'm talking about SMO which is selling on another level then any 3d mario or smash, it sold 3 million in the US in 2 months, smash will not touch it, and will not be a bigger system system seller, but you are free to have your opinion.

Do you really think that Smash Switch won't outsell odyssey? With how Smash has gained popularity with each new entry, I think Smash stands a very high chance of doing it

We were orginally talking about system sellers but you easily forgot. And no1 will take you serious because if ssb beats smo launch aligned youll use another excuse again... In that case "well duh ssb had a bigger install base"

I think Smash will end up selling about as well as Odyssey. They hype for Smash is gonna be huge, the user base is gonna be way bigger when it launches, and normally it sells much better than 3D mario games. But Odyssey is also selling much better than 3D Mario games, and it really introduced new stuff to the mario franchise. I don't see how Smash will differentiate itself from previous games in the series. Personally, I'll probably end up buying it but to me I felt like the franchise didn't have much room to grow after Melee cuz it was already pretty much perfect. Still though, its a super popular party game and will sell tons, but because Mario Odyssey is blowing away sales records for 3D Mario games I think it'll be on about the same level, which is to say it'll be a 20+ million seller.

I'm assuming the Smash release will coincide with the paid online subscription debut. So the online setup for the game better be wayyyy better than Mario Kart is all I can say.

In terms of yearly NPD sales, I feel like Nintendo needs more than one big game this year to beat PS4's 2015. But it'll probably be close.

I have admitted i'm wrong before. it won't use the bigger install base excuse ill just eat crow, as for system sellers, there is no evidence showing this, what did wiiu, and 3ds sale when SSMB released.

This whole conversation today started with which is a bigger system seller, not smo vs ssb in software sales. There will be evidence when ssb release month is killinh it and its notable (npd).

And ssb in terms of hype is tied with pokemon if not more hyped than every nintendo franchise.

Hype doesnt always means biggest sales. Animal crossing is a great ex of this. Hype is nowhere near that of zelda yet AC sells more

I have no idea if Smash will sell the same as Odyssey and i never claimed it would, all i did was point out your flawed logic.

I just want you to stop making contradictory excuses and changing goalposts everytime somebody provides evidence that disputes your claims.
