USGAMER > 3/5 or 6.

Yeah that took it's Metascore back down to 69.

And what do you suggest I write about? How I got dumped into games with crew members who didn't listen to me? About how much of a pain I felt it was to take quests and how clunky the gameplay felt? About how I got lost and my crew left without me (no idea how they did that: I thought it needed all four members to set sail on a ship that size), about how my internet was less than stellar for it so I kept glitching?

I played 10 hours between the two betas, and while I can't pretend it was representative of the final game, my concerns were not alleviated once the reviews started coming in. The things I was worried about seemed just as bad in the final game, and while I HATED my time with the game, I chalk most of that up to the tools that were in my crew combined with my shoddy connection.

But I'm not here to talk about my hatred for the game, because I'm not stupid enough to believe that the things I hated about my time with it are representative of the final game. However, during that time, I did have some very real concerns with the game and the final release spoke to me that my concerns were valid, and that's what I've been talking about. If I was looking to be critical, or looking to avoid civil discussion and just hate on the game, I'd use my experiences as an anecdote for how bad the game is, but I'm not doing that because that would be foolish.

You said you had friends who have the game so why would you be dumped into games with random crew members? But ok I get it, the game made you suffer so obviously it's not for you.  Better to just move on.

because I played it during the betas, and I was on Xbox One instead of PC.

There's nothing I love more than watching a fresh new IP get hyped to high heaven, only to have metacritic/opencritic send it crashing back to earth.

Next up on the "This isn't as good as we hyped it up to be" block... Star Citizen.

Followed by.... Days Gone

That's not gonna happen to star citizen, cuz that game is never releasing.

It takes genuine talent to see greatness in yourself despite your absence of genuine talent.

You've been here for almost 10 years now and you're still trying to console war.

That's both impressive and sad.

I guess it was out of line as a to bring it up but I found it to be an adequate response.I wrote what I did in response to CGI because of the sentiment as to whether these games were or werent being overhyped. I specifically pointed to Youtube, because its being used in a list war.

Youtube users.....That makes it even more sad.

The hype was created by experiences with the game especially by people like Easy Allies but also by people like HappyConsolegamer who almost never uploads Xbox related but loved sea of thieves so much that that he even get a Special Xone controller for it.

That's also why I find it weird to review a game like Sea of thieves and it is similar like PUBG (that had like 60% negative reviews) because it only had one map and you experienced the whole game in 15 minutes.

Many its just a hunch......but after thinking about it a little bit....I think Microsoft overpriced this on purpose.

They deliberately want people to be put off by the price and go to game pass instead.

Even though for the short term this might hurt them, this gets many more people aware of what game pass is.

I still wont give them a free pass for shipping an unfinished game for $60, though. They deserve as much flak as they can get.

Bet with Intrinsic:

The Switch will outsell 3DS (based on VGchartz numbers), according to me, while Intrinsic thinks the opposite will hold true. One month avatar control for the loser's avatar.

Thanks whoever is updating the thread for me while I’m busy :)

Hope it stays at 69 or higher (for league purposes)

I’m talking about actual Xbox fan channels in the community. Honestly, all of those sites you mentioned are from level headed gamers. I was just shining light on the Xbox community on YouTube . I’ll tell you about it in private. I don’t want to lead the convo into misdirection any further.

USGAMER can officially fuck itself.

Don't worry, a spanish Xbox site (I am assuming based on the name) gave it a 90 to bump it up to 71 atm.

And then some shitwad like Jim Sterling will likely hate on it just because that's all he's good for.

Clearly you're good for much more ... like ... uh ....

Hmmm .....

A little of topic, but all these varied rating systems being combined into one score makes things sketchy.

Like, 3/5 might mean 60%, but if that same site used a 100-point scale they would not give 60/100. Works the other way as well. 3/5 comes off as "good", 60/100 comes as "mediocre"

If someone gives a game 5/5 it doesn't always mean 100/100. If the same reviewer used a 100-point scale the game could easily be in the 90-95 range. Again, 5/5 comes off as "excellent", but 100/100 comes off as a "masteerpiece"
