Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

I added (what I believe to be) a useful feature to forum posting - the ability to "mention" another user, thereby getting that user's attention to check out a thread. Simply typing out an "@" sign followed by the users name (ex. @Ryuu, @kirby007, @versusevil) will trigger a notification to that user, providing them a link to the thread they were mentioned in.

I'm sure (like everything else around here) there are many ways this functionality could be improved (not the least of which, would be in-line typingname-searching type stuff) - but building something complex or process heavy was certainly not the goal here. It was just meant as a simple notification feature for when you want to draw a fellow user's attention to an interesting post. If it gets abused or if you guys have no interest, I can just as easily turn it off.

I'll let it play out for awhile and we'll see where it goes...  :)

So

-mentions in quotes work

-multiple mentions in one post get a just as much notifucations

-self notifications also work
