Forums - Sony Discussion - PS4: Detroit Become Human Releases May 25th

With Sony getting so many games at the first half I can see MS claiming to have the best 2018 lineup (when considering the year as holidays)

duduspace11 "Well, since we are estimating costs, Pokemon Red/Blue did cost Nintendo about $50m to make back in 1996"

Mr Puggsly: "Hehe, I said good profit. You said big profit. Frankly, not losing money is what I meant by good. Don't get hung up on semantics"

Azzanation: "PS5 wouldn't sold out at launch without scalpers."

Will David Cage strike twice and invent a new classic meme ?

Why Beyond 2 Souls doesn't count?

I feel like this game will not sell well unless reviews are glowing (above 90). I did like Heavy Rain but for some reason have no inclination to play another game like it. But, certainly, I could be in the minority. Hopefully I'm wrong and people love it.

These types of games will always be niche or low sellers. Now that we've seen games like TT: The walking dead games progressively lose their audience, it might be a sign that story heavy, point and click, QTE style games are falling out of favor. It's all just rambling in my part but I think TT burned this type of thing into the ground.

OT: Sony is spacing out games beautifully. Dissidia NT in january (albeit, not that big of a deal), SotC in february, Ni no kuni in march, god of war in april, detroit BH in may and spiderman in june (i think)

I wouldn't really compare this with Telltale games, they are crap compared to Quantic Dream.

Although I don't expect this to be a massive seller, it should still sell a couple of million.

Do they have no shame :D

Looks like the best QD game yet. Have yet to play one mind you, outside of the HR demo which I really enjoyed. I will say that I found the E3 2017 trailer to be thematically....disturbing? That might be too strong a word, but it's not often a game put the player in control of characters that are part of group of life forms revolting against humans. I remember WagnerPavia not liking it, and joked with him that I was hoping for a co-op mode so we could poison the city's water supply together. It's an odd duck in that way.

And on this case we are comparing fatigue from yearly (or more often) games with same mechanic, to a game every 4+ year that have different mechanics but very similar.

I probably won't get it at release, but I may end up getting it down the line to see just how similar it is to the actual Detroit.

March: Ni No Kuni 2
April: God of War and Yakuza 6
