PSVR is not a console, it's a peripheral. Really doubt NPD takes it into account for console sales.

It depends how NPD count revenue for bundles. Let's say there's a standalone PS4 for $250 and a PS4 bundled with a game for $299, will NPD count each sale of the bundle as only $250 revenue for the PS4 or as $299? If it's the latter then it could be possible that the $999 PS4 VR bundle counts as $999 in revenue for the PS4.
If anyone does know how NPD counts revenue, I'd be interested to know because I can see both methods as possible.

Think about it every week Nintendo basically slip a bonus 50-100k more consoles into players hands with the 3ds alongside having either a contender for the number 1 spot each month this last year. |
I am still a bit skeptical based on some of the targets that Nintendo has set based on price and what we know so far regarding their 2018 lineup. However, nevertheless, they have created a wonderful console that has had a great first year (well technically still not over, but it has been amazing thus far). As someone that really does not have a lot of time to dedicate to gaming on a TV, it has been phenomenal. This has been the dream portable I have been hoping for, so I really hope it continues to do well and get good games.

Actually, what you said makes it even better for Switch if we consider it came out on PS4’s peak. Like you said, it’s older than it, which actually should give it a big advantage over Switch which is still on its first year (remember Ps4’s first year? It was it’s worst sales wise). Not to mention they are the same price, like you said, while PS4 has 20x the amount of (cheaper) games and bundles.
Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won

Revenue from 'hard' bundles are counted as console revenue. For example, the MH Pro bundle is a hard bundle so each unit sale equals to $449 in revenue. However, if it is a 'soft' bundle like if Amazon decided to give a copy of MH for only an additional $30 with a PS4, then only the revenue from the PS4 counts. The additional $30 added onto the subtotal will not.

I think its more to do with switch having no new releases compared to that of x1/ps4 having 2 big games (not system sellers) |
Yeah, I think some people who are discrediting the impact of MHW and DBFZ in the west for the PS4/XB1 are forgetting that the most relevant release the Switch got in January was a digital, multiplat, indie, 2D platformer in Celeste.

In my opinion the N64 was not just the best console of the 5th gen but, to this day the best console ever created!

So it boils down to if it's a Sony issued bundle or if it's a retailer promotion. Where does the VR bundle fall? Soft or hard?

Do you mind showing me where the VR bundle is found? I know that Newegg packages the PS4 with PSVR a lot and that is a retailer promotion.

Consoles peak mid life not in the beginning. You are only helping to prove his point.
