CoD beta was very poorly recieved, with dated visuals (even compared to MW3 apparently!), balancing issues, holding the map packs ransom behind an expensive season pass and the lack of single-player all together are making this game having a very poor reception. It's not or just barely for some days showing up in the Top 100 on either Gamestop or Amazon

And considering the disappointment that was CoD IIII with all these things, BF5 only having about 15% of it's preorders was an absolute disaster. Those 15% would have been bad enough against a regular CoD, but against a disappointing CoD it could become a showstopper for Dice; really hope for them that the delay will help them otherwise I'll know which Studio EA sends next to the chopping block.

Where are you getting all this info? Last year people were saying the same things about CODWWII and how its sales will be disappointing, and look how that turned out. Stop giving your own opinion as factual evidence.

I didn't hear anything near this bad about CoD WW2 last year - it's just that it got really outshined by Battlefield One.

@bolded? WTF? Just give me time to edit the post with the infos

Those videos you posted are just run-of-the-mill "critical" arguments on COD games. Sure, some points presented are true, but the average COD player doesn't care about all the stuff they are complaining about. The internet is filled with hate videos towards COD WW2, even though the game wasn't really that bad. it's just that these type of videos bring in the most views, because it's COD. The fact that Black Ops 4 doesn't have a single-player campaign is irrelevant to the average COD player and it will in no way shape its fate. The finished product could be 5 times better than CODWW2 but it will still get at least the same amount of hate from certain people. And Battlefield 1 released two years ago, not last year.

Here's a few of the many, many similar videos on CODWW2, bearing in the mind the game is probably over 16 million copies sold on PS4, digital included.

Why Is Call of Duty: WWII SO BAD?!

Call of Duty Ww2 DISAPPOINTMENT.

Pivot: Why Call of Duty WW2 Sucks

Call of Duty Fanboys Try to Defend COD WWII

Call of Duty WW2 SUCKS!!

Bottom line is: pretty tired with the same statements every year on how COD will fail sales-wise, while the big picture doesn't really change.

Okay, didn't see nearly that much bad news back then, my bad.

However, I still expect the sales to be down a notch or two because the channels linked are bigger, hence I think will have a bigger reach. Considering the PS4 version did 11.6M last year according to VGC and the migration to digital sales is increasing, I'd say this Blops IIII will make 8-10M retail sales on the PS4 this year. Nothing catastrophic and some part of it goes to digital, but somewhat diminished sales nonetheless.

Week 33 numbers have been posted.

So, I did some calculations and at this point last year, the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch sold through 48.4%, 32%, and 40.3% of their respective 2017 numbers.

If those same percentages were to hold this year, these are the totals that all 3 systems would finish with.

PlayStation 4: 17,141,226
Xbox One: 9,335,112
Nintendo Switch: 16,438,757

So 29-30 millions Switch sold by the end of the year according to your calculations ?

Thanks for the thread. Personally i think ps4 will do 18m+. Sony were very Conservative with their 16m prediction and I think 17m is lowballing it too. Black ops 4 with blackout, bfv with battle royale mode, fortnite first holiday and Sony have the bundle rights, rdr2 and their mega hit spiderman. Plus fifa 19 will be huge in Europe. I just can't see them doing under 18m. Now if they cut the price we are talking 20m+ but I think they'll stick with holiday promotions and roll in the cash.

At this point are people going to buy a ps4 for fifa, cod and battlefield. Surely most fans of these franchises have a ps4 at this point? I can see spider man and red dead shifting a lot of consoles.
