I'm buying the game for the atmosphere, graphics, gameplay, and storyline. If I wanted to see racism, there's a ton of real life rascist crap on youtube. How come nobody's up in arms about that.

The contraversy hungry media will try to make a big deal about it, but really there are bigger issues that they need to worry about.

The game takes place in Haiti,so what the hell do they expect?...these people are taking this way way too serious.

Didn't expect that from N'Gai Croal thought he'd have been more ope minded than that. But he does bring up a point. People seeing those images without any consideration of RE0-4 or the story or setting might just see emaciated black zombies being killed by a white guy and take offense.

I mean, if the 'sex' scene in Mass Effect can create stupid news stories then RE5 is ripe for Fox News to blow way out of proportion.

If the protagonist was black himself, that'd probably save Capcom a lot of media control problems.

I also don't remember any claims that RE4 was racist against the spanish. "Obviously no spanish people worked on that game"

Its obsurd and selectivly taking offense. So what is this guy saying? There can NEVER be a violent game made based in a primary black country? Its in Haiti, should all the protagonists be black running around killing a mss of unexplainble white zombies? Its obsurd and these people who view things so black and white (literally and figuratively) really do a disservice to those who are fighting against real racism and racist opression.

If they are so offended about about this, they should start a petition to move the entire game story into a country with zero black population.

Regardless of what race your fighting, it's only racism if your exclusively targeting one race outside of the majority (even in the politically correct sense of it). Haiti, last I checked, was 95% black according to https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/geos/ha.html

I don't think he would have said this stuff if he wasn't actually offended. Besides this is not the first of these stories.
All the arguments are correct, but I personally cannot say whether shouldn't feel offended about something like this.

The argument about "We killed numerous white people as well" may sound totally logical, still white people in general have always been the opressors and have never been opressed by another race.
