Very minor leap from ps3/360 imho. Actually worse in handheld mode.

i'm not seeing how GOW3 and und uncharted 3 are showing there age compared to this, yes it's technically more demanding cause it runs at 60ffps which is very demanding, but those graphics, are a step down, aside from running higher resolution |
Mario Odyssey has better shaders and effects work as a result of the much newer GPU.
I could show you screens that illustrate this much better than the worst case scenario you choose, but I suspect that would be a waste of my time.
Suffice it to say that while you're free to prefer the way God of War and Uncharted look, the specs of the respective platforms speak for themselves, and as a game built for those superior specs, Odyssey has the upper hand.

locked 60fps alone takes around nearly 3x the power as 30fps, while 1080p takes 2.5x the power. anyway goodnight, we killed enough time.

Agreed ...
The vast majority of Switch titles excluding Doom are visually underwhelming because of these 2 reasons ...
1. Most of Switch's high profile games target higher performance for a trade off in visual quality and it shows since they graphically struggle to keep up with the higher profile titles of last gen systems ...
2. The second being is a lack of technical competence or excellence among japanese developers that will flood the Switch with games including Nintendo too ... (they aren't pioneering new graphics technology, they aren't using cutting edge hardware features offered by the GPU and you have devs like Monolith Soft and those behind Splatoon 2 who don't want to make a new engine which Switch games technically suffer)

So you're backing down from your ridiculous statement that it wouldn't look out of place as a new Switch game? |
I was proving a point. And the answers I got proved it. People thought that was the ps3 game. If they can mix up the vita and the ps3 it's surely reasonable to xbox people to notice no difference between the switch and the ps3.
I have so far only BotW, and I would say that PS3 Ractchet and Clank was far better in visuals on big screen. I think Switch is all about portability and fun games, not about graphics. My experience is that PS4 exclusives are the best of the graphics today, and great games as well, but clearly different genre than Switch.

No,I was thinking more along the lines of Steam games that are low budget rather than PS3. I know the game is Killzone but the visuals reminds me of mobile or steam off brand Call of Duty. Sorta like Gamelofts Modern Combat series. These are iod android games.

Honestly, there are probably plenty of people out there who could confuse an Xbox 360 game with an Xbox One game. Doesn't mean Xbox One's not graphically superior though.

But I really believe that the NS is today under exploited. It is useless to compare a port from PS3/XBOX360, obviously the optimisation for the switch will be superficial and won't show what the console of Nintendo could do if the game had been made from ground and optimized for the machine. Until now so far, we have seen only 3 heavy and really exclusive games on the NS which can be used for fair graphical comparison :
- Super Mario Odysee
- Xenoblade C 2
- ARMS
Just don't forget that the NS had 3 GB DDR4 of ram, it is far above the 7th generation.
The NS could potentially display almost like the first games of the XBOX1 and PS4, and these 2 consoles are also today under exploited imo.
Metroid Prime 4 and Bayonetta 3 might be a stunning surprise for many people who underestimate the Switch. I hope it will be.
Last edited by Amnesia - on 27 January 2018I haven't seen any switch game with graphics even comparing to
Halo 4
Last of Us
Battlefield 4: not to mention the huge multiplayer sandbox with water physics, parachutes, vehicles...
I also haven't seen any switch game with a ridiculously packed open world with millions of physics at play like
GTA 5
The Switch isn't anything great in terms of sheer power especially compared to 8th gen.
It is a minor leap over 7th gen though, but we are comparing it to 10-year-old hardware.
But... the presentation of Nintendo games make up for that,
SMO makes impressive use of colors.
BOTW has cool grass and has pretty cool physics.
