Because NPD does not release numbers, all our numbers come from PR statements and leakers.

I'm not sure what to think about the XB1 numbers. Compared to the PS4 numbers they obviously look amazing, but then again being down almost 150k YoY while the XB1s was $199 for weeks (including Christmas), with the release of PUBG and the free PUBG copy with XB1X purchases for 2 weeks you'd expect it to not go down 150k YoY.

Welfare has a good breakdown of total holiday sales.

PS4: 2.77M (~1.69M + 1.08M)

XB1: 2.745M (~1.38M + 1.365M)

NSW: 2.275M (~775K + 1.5M)

Wow great Switch numbers for December! Xbox winning the whole holiday season in US is impressive. Surprised SNES Classic numbers were so low. Though I guess it had already been out for a couple months and the Switch plus sales on ps4/xbox were the big christmas focus.
3ds numbers crazy considering that Switch is its replacement! 3ds might actually live on for another year or two. I was sure it would be dead in 2018, but looks good to keep going!

Xbox won the holidays despite not winning a single month.

Also any leaks on how Xenoblade 2 is doing compared to X? I know it has to be doing better than 1.

This means switch sales are overtracked on vg charts for the USA slightly or else the switch only sells 182,000 between 24th & 30th December.

I think the Europe sales need to be adjusted up though. Unless vgcharts has the switch bang on 4.8 million at the end of December because it should be just over that I think.

So if there are several leaks with different numbers, which is the “right” one?
