Could be, I wasn't in that thread long.

Depending on who you ask. EA had PS4 and XB1 combined sales at 79 million by the end of 2016. Subtract the PS4's 53.4m sales from EA's estimate, you get 25.6m for the XB1. However, you are assuming that Sony and EA used the similar methodologies to arrive at their numbers. IHS Markit and SuperData had the XB1 selling 27.6m and 26m, respectively, by the end of 2016.
poklane said: Might be a bit interesting to compare that to EA's estimate from earlier this year that PS4 and XB1 combined would reach 105m by the end of the year (I'd assume that one of the industry's biggest publishers could make an accurate prediction): https://www.gamespot.com/forums/system-wars-314159282/ea-ps4xbox-one-will-reach-105-million-units-sold-i-33390513/?page=2 If your assumption is accurate PS4 and XB1 would combined be at 107.13mil, 2.13mil higher than EA's estimate which would make sense as EA might have underestimated PS4 and XB1X sales numbers. 33.53mil for XB1 indeed doesn't sound too weird. Maybe about a mil more, who knows. |
We might get an update from EA during their next earnings call (like they did in 2016) or the one after (like they did last year).

I think you are forgetting about Wii U version of BotW which tips it over the Mario games.

Can confirm. Wii U version actually did way better than what people think. 460,000 only in one month. I would not be surprised if total sales are around 700-800k lifetime in USA right now.

That is an excellent point. I did forget about Wii U. I'm going to have to wait and see after all the numbers are in.
curl-6 bet me that PS5 + X|S sales would reach 56m before year end 2023 and he was right.
My Bet With curl-6
My Threads:

Switch Will Be #1 All Time
Zelda Will Outsell Mario (Achieved)
How Much Will MH Rise sell?
My Bet With Metallox
If Switch is around 4.88m then it will be,
Splatoon 2 >.97m
Mario Kart 8D > 2.44m
Zelda BOTW > 2.68m
Mario Odyssey > 2.92m
Xenoblade 2 is #9 on overall 2017 Switch software chart. It only did this despite only being out for only a month.
Xenoblade 2 fans be like:

So based on that, can somone make an estimative on XC 2 sales?
Using VGC numbers(yeah, they are unreliable, but unless someone provide a better source, Im going with this), 1-2 Switch, which is the game right above XC 2, is said to have sold 340k as of end of november.Assuming it sells at the very least 60k in december, XC 2 could have sold up to 400k!And I dont NPD takes digital sales for Nintendo games in general into account.
Realistically speaking, the sales are probably somewhere betwenn 300 to 350k, which are excellent sales for just one month!
My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.
