Forums - Nintendo - Direct IS OUT!!!!

Nintendo is obviously announcing games close to the release date, a approach I like, but it has its cons, which is that might lead to dissapointment to people. I think it was fine enough, almost every game has a Spring release date. We don't know anything yet about Summer or the rest of the year.

Lol, they're just porting the WiiU to the Switch, it seems... I mean, how many notable titles are left that we haven't seen yet?

Yeah, Nintendo is a business and their fanbase will probably (a whole lot of them) rebuy the same game multiple times if necessary.

The truth is that it is very clever. The WiiU’s dramatic failure gives them free reign to do this on the much more successful Switch.

Sony or MS Porting ALL their original PS3/X360 games to their newer system will cause an uproar, however. And rightly so.

I guess we'll find out more in March or April. Would like to play the upcoming Fire Emblem game on the Switch.

Yeah, that's for sure. We'll have a direct for games that will release for the rest of the year. And Nintendo might have a bunch of heavy-hitters for this year.

So, we have to make a calendar with game releases. February is a nice month with Bayo 1+2, and March with Kirby. I forgot about the other games release date though xD.

New Super Mario Bros. U (and the Luigi expansion)
Super Mario 3D World
Smash Bros. 4
Pikmin 3
Wind Waker HD
Twilight Princess HD
Super Mario Maker
Captain Toad Treasure Tracker

That would be a *very* sparse release schedule, if you would map it out... Mario Maker also got a 3DS port, instead (like Yoshi) - which is the same principle, really, trying to recover lost sales on a more successful console.

What has been announced, till now? (Splatoon's a middle ground, I guess...)

BOTW

Mario Kart 8

Pokken Tournament

Bayonetta 2

Hyrule Warriors

Donkey Kong

Pretty comparable list, don't you think? About half of what the console had to offer. Let's see what else gets added...

I guess I don't fully disagree with the decision to let new/old Nintendo fans that didn't have a WiiU appreciate what they've accomplished, in the last few years, especially since they're so numerous...

Bet with PeH:

I win if Arms sells over 700 000 units worldwide by the end of 2017.

Bet with WagnerPaiva:

I win if Emmanuel Macron wins the french presidential election May 7th 2017.

I think they are saving the rest for E3?

No way. Absolutely not. Even with how successful Switch has been, Nintendo does not have the privilege to keep owners in the dark that long.

Looking at my library, I kinda think that's what they've done. Lol!
