That's cool. This game looks interesting. I might pick it up when it comes out.

@Ookaze.
Actually you wouldn't.
Even if they do fight like morons they can still move fast enough to stop lasers and have swords that can cut through anything =P

I'm training with boken in my Aikido sessions, and with my low practice level, I could have killed anyone of the Jedi Knights in less than 5 seconds, to have an idea of how bad they are at fighting in the movies (and I mean in all 6 of them). The movies are modeled for a show, they show supposedly good fighters that, for example, take a stance for piercing, but actually swing, which is beyond stupid and suicidal (they would have lost their legs and hands then died quick if they were against me). So it impress people that don't know anything about using a sword, but that's about it. A 1:1 saber combat won't even last 2 seconds most of the time in real life. Look at some chambara movies to know how quick someone proficient with a saber can kill you: it's a matter of tenth of seconds. So really, in a game that is supposed to be fun, 1:1 saber combat, or any weapon of the same type, is the stupidest thing I've ever heard. I've heard people ask for this since the Wii's launch, and always thought it was stupid, and the people asking for it actually don't know what they are asking for. It would not be fun at all. There's a reason the games don't use that. The same is true for tennis or anything actually. You don't have to master a sport to be good in a game, the goal is not to reproduce real life. |
Congratulations, you just a secured a nomination for the ''pompous toolbag of the century'' award.
Crusty VGchartz old timer who sporadically returns & posts. Let's debate nebulous shit and expand our perpectives. Or whatever.

Their supposedly inferior moves are done because the Force told them to do it. It may seem like they are being retarded and suicidal, but infact they are doing the smartest thing possible because deus ex machina quantified says so.
Other than that I agree completely. I think some developer has even come out and said they tried to make a 1 to 1 sword fighting game and it just sucked unless you knew how to sword fight.
After ign saying that the wii version has better visuals than the PS2, i was a little relieved. Glad to see these deveopers has put some effort into the Wii graphics.

I don't think so. The strongest market for this title will be NA, and 360 still leads in that market. I think it will look like Guitar Hero sales: Strong on every platform, strongest on 360, but Wii will have the best legs. I don't think those legs will carry sales past 360, though. |
By the time this comes out the userbase for the Wii in NA will have passes the 360. I think it was the source that said it would happen over the summer.
Bigger userbase + motion controls = Way more sales for Wii version

^Guy pissing on Microsoft Sign
i think the 360 and Wii version will sell neck and neck
with the 360 version having a bigger debut
but with the Wii having longer legs
But yeah, now that i've heard some positive reviews
about the Wii version--i might actually buy it
though i still need to buy Zack & Wiki!!!!1

It doesn't get released until sept and by then Wii should be in front of 360. Depends on how GTA IV does as well.

I 100% aree with you, I think it will sell the most
I can only hope it will sell the most. I don't have enough information to make a prediction either way, at this point. If it does sell the most, it'll be some huge ammo for the Wii when discussing 3rd party support by western developers.
