People are getting very riled up about this. It's all pretty silly.

I agree.

Rey never defeated Kylo Ren in TLJ.  They broke the lightsaber and she got away in the chaos after the vice-admiral took out the ship.  And Luke bested her in actual combat, he only lost when she brought out a lightsaber and all he had was a stick.  I also doubt that Kylo Ren was ever about to lose to that red shirt.

Rey sent Luke, a once powerful Jedi, on the ground in 5 seconds .

Rey neutralized Kylo Ren after saving its life and left the ship unscathed while Kylo Ren was out, awakening up just in time to not be killed by Hux.

Hadn't Luke sealed himself off from the Force. IIRC, and I could be mistaken here, Luke didn't open himself up to the Force until after Rey left.

I remember how around 5 years ago how Lucas was considered a greedy businessman who's newer movies pandered to children and only cared about selling toys. Now people are saying Disney is doing that and Lucas was some sort of artist with a vision lol.

The Last Jedi was flawed but no more than those Marvel movies people love. I enjoyed it, at least more than the prequels and Rogue One by a long shot.

Problem with that for me is I don't like Marvel movies.

I guess I enjoyed it more than Episode 1 and maybe 2, but certainly not more than 3. Haven't seen Rogue One yet, I'll have to check it out. Can't be worse than TLJ..

They have all right to be. It isn't cool to see a beloved franchise and beloved characters be ruined by a money-milking company.

I'm not even that much of a Star Wars fan, so despite all my disappointment I can eventually put it aside and just accept that "my" Star Wars is episodes I-VI and Rogue One. But for example, if something like this happened to Guardians of the Galaxy a couple decades from now, it'd be very hard to contain that frustration, I would get very riled up and with good reason because it isn't nice to see something you love be fucked up by people who've no idea what they're doing.

Does that mean you weren't frustrated with Guardians Volume 2? Cus I saw that for the first time a couple days ago and couldn't believe how bad it was.

This has to be the movie's biggest plot hole. If Luke wanted to seal himself off from the Force, why the hell would he go to a planet that is a fucking Jedi temple?

It’s not established in the movie that those were his intentions.  He just said that he went there to die.  Rey discovered later on that he had sealed himself off from the force. Once he opened up himself to the force he was able to project himself across the galaxy, from what I gather that’s not something that a lot of force users can do.

IMHO it is, but I loved TLJ lol.  I will say the Vader scenes in Rogue One are really cool.
