And as far as I'm aware, Game Freak isn't really stepping up its staff and hiring much more people to prep make Pokemon Switch a game like no game ever was.

Going from the 3DS to the Switch is a huge leap and two extra staff members just won't cut it for the type of ambitious game that some people, myself included, are hoping for Pokemon Switch to be.

I think the transition to the 3DS to an HD console like the Switch is ambitious enough as it is. Hell, they already pushed the 3DS passed its limits when they created each Pokemon with over tens of thousands of polygons. The lower frame rates during battles are more likely due to hardware limitations than anything. As I said earlier, they would have to create HD assets for over 800+ Pokemon (and who knows if they'll create more species and how many more new species will be there) along with creating new landscapes that have to be bigger than shown in any previous title. Plus, they have to balance the game and provide an effective online format.
If you're expecting an MMO or an open-world to be created and released in 2018 or 2019, you may have to taper expectations.
