Very true indeed. People easily seem to forget that U.S. =! The world and I'd say X1+X1X not being able to beat PS4 at launch month even there, doesn't bode considerably well for the future of the console. I'd also wager 430K (including pre-orders!) doesn't seem too impressive in comparison to the 260K the Pro was doing (granted they had pretty amazing deals at Gamestop + Amazon). I also expect Sony to increase their marketing on Pro & PSVR during the upcoming year.

It's interesting that when ps4 pro launched, also ps4 slim + ps4 pro could not beat XBox One + XBox One S during launch week in the US. The One S gave MS a 4 month win streak in the US. These mid gen refreshes are great to keep the hardcore from moving on to PC, yet for overall sales it's not doing much.

True. Few people even own a 4K TV and even less will think it's worth buying it if they don't have one already, especially since it's already late i the gen. I see X1X mainly as a move to fix the broken image of Microsoft as a hardware manufacturer.

Sony atm has PSVR as a bonus to make people want to upgrade to the Pro. Neo and Morpheus were always developed together. We'll see if Microsoft will attempt to jump in there (and AR?!) with the 1X next year.

I don't think is a success, nor a failure yet. Sales itself is not what will make the 1x a success its changing the perception of the xbox. I don't think it did. Ps4 is still the #1 in everyone's mind mainly because the games coming to the ps4 has people talking. The only talk we hear positive of the 1x is that it is slightly better than the pro in games available everywhere.

I highly doubt any big unannounced games get dropped before E3, so it will take until after E3 to truly say if it failed. We already know it did not succeed, but its not a failure yet. So like always, we will see the sales of the xbox family almost disappeared for almost 6 months.

Seems like the X1X is off to a good start, though as of right now it's not really showing it's the most powerful console on the market.

Between the X1X and PS4 Pro, overall you'd have a hard time telling which is the more powerful unit based upon the X1X's current games lineup.

Hopefully that gap opens up in 2018.

Uhhhh, the x has more enhanced games than the pro that have been announced... Also dont know what you mean by you have a hard time telling which one is the more powerful console when 95% of the games that DF has shown preform better on the x. It's definitely the most powerful and advanced piece of technologie that the gaming market has ever seen

Like he said, they are better, but not very noticeable. Just minor upgrades that really doesn't stand out. Which as expected, the ps4 is still the main platform. It will take xclusives to show what the 1x can do and that's where the xbox is lacking.

Never expected the x to make xbox the main platform for devs, The ps4 is approaching 70 mil and the one is way farther back.. It's like last gen when the 360 was the main console because of popularity and the fact that it was easier to develop, not because of the increased power that the ps3 had.

That's factually just incorrect. At X1X launch The Pro had 225 enhanced titles. The X1X had 70...both will have a few more by now but the gap will stay the same or even get bigger in the future. That's what one year head start does to you. You honestly shouldn't let Microsoft's shady marketing deceive you.

Your second statement is also incorrect. Most games on X1X have better resolution but don't look much different, just like Technarchy stated, simply because they are using the same assets. In terms of FPS most titles perform very similar  on Pro. About 1/4 of the titles even perform BETTER on PS4 Pro, according to Digital Foundry's comparison tests.

yes sure

It’s so powerful that if you buy one you don’t have to buy another system for several years. So yes it was suecessful.

Not sure if two max three years counts as "a lot". Next gen consoles will be on a whole different level due to their much faster CPU.

I never said you expected that. Just said its the reason why games wont look that much better on the 1x.
