Actually, the actor who played the par t of Luke even said that's not Luke Skywalker. Luke wouldn't have done any of that. So you're the one not making any sense. Try to be open minded and see it from the other side instead of defending SW incoherently.

The actor is just that, an actor, and he didn't said that at all, read the whole sentence:

"I got into trouble because I was quoted as saying to Rian that ‘I fundamentally disagree with everything you decided about Luke,’ and it was inartfully phrased. What I was, was surprised at how he saw Luke. And it took me a while to get around to his way of thinking, but once I was there it was a thrilling experience. I hope it will be for the audience, too"

There's actually a video that I'll find where Mark Hamill actually says he had to pretend he was somebody else like ______ Skywalker because this character was not Luke. I'll find it in a few. Gotta buy a last minute xmas gift right now

Maybe he changed his tune to promote the movie. James Cameron did it for Terminator Genysis (or however you spell it).

I watched the clip. He doesn't believe luke would act like that. There's no way to mistake what he was saying. That's besides the point of disney discarding the EU and making crappy SW films with enough plot holes it looks like a cast net. Also, you would think they would learn about putting sjws in charge of a film after that ghostbusters shitshow. Most fans aren't fanboys and they just gabble up whatever has "star wars" attached to. Many people thinks it's a shitty movie. It's completely fine if you think it was a good movie but I'm not buying whatever defense you're selling on behalf of it.

I think that after the film was in the theatres.

It pained me to see what happened to Terminator and Aliens. At some point I had to accept that the movies had gotten bad to me by my own standards. I quit watching them in theaters if at all. To me, that's what Star Wars has become and this movie is the one that pushed me over the edge.

Did you actually think "Prometheus" and "Covenant" were bad movies? Or are you referring to "3", "Resurrection", etc.?

I liked those two, actually.

(Prometheus and Covenant)

One good thing is that we know now that Disney did not pay hundreds of YouTube shills for good reviews.

A couple who were kinda hard on Disney Star Wars before were pretty lenient this time, though. That includes my beloved Jenny Nicholson. She got to go to the premiere.

Red Letter Media's "Nerd Crew" have been making fun of these types for about a year.

Yea, that was kinda sad to see. Personally, I think the Porg tactic worked for some. They thought they were so cute and bought the toys, so they were going to love the movie that introduces them no matter what. I know she spent a ton on different Porg toys. I actually noticed pretty much every girl reviewer had them. I did find a few who weren't suckered by it, though.

I actually liked the movie, but I had to completely disregard many of the plots that were set up in TFA.Also had to analyze it as a stand-alone movie completely separate from the SW universe I had come to know and love.TLJ for me marks the beginning of the new direction the SW universe will take and if I am to enjoy it I have to see as SW-Two, I suggest people that didn't like the movie do the same.

I acutally somewhat agree that as a stand alone film, it's "ok" but as a STAR WARS film it falls completely flat. The logic doesn't even make any sense or is consistant in comparison to TFA, let alone OT canon. Hell even within the parameters of the film itself much of the logic is questionable.

I also have no desire to see Episode IX now. They basically tossed aside all previous Star Wars lore, shrugged off significant characters as just being regular old schmoes, totally got rid of the magic and wonder of the force, and killed off all of the interesting characters except maybe Poe who is basically portrayed as an inept fool in this film anyway, and Kylo Ren who quite obviously is going to be killed in Ep 9, so what's the point? I don't see how Ep 9 could possibly pick up the pieces after this and somehow be interesting. J.J. Abrams would have to be some kind of miracle worker. He'd ACTUALLY have to have the force I think.. TLJ might be a "new direction" but from where I sit it's a highly boring and uninteresting direction and one I'm simply not interested in following anymore.

I suppose all good things must come to an end at some point.. Just hoping for a brand new Sci Fi series that's somewhat in the spirit of the original Star Wars at this point.
