It launched in March so it's still waiting on it's first Christmas. It'll be much more interesting than you think.

If we assume VGC isn't overtracking the Switch, and that this figure is for 9th/10th of December, then that's an average of 360k per week globally since November 4th. A decent holiday. Maybe slightly higher due to rounding.

We'll see, Nintendo consoles holiday sales do seem to have a stronger leaning towards december then november then most consoles IIRC. But if VGC's 8.2m as of november 4th is correct, then over next 5 weeks the average sales for Switch was around 360-400k (depending on how much higher than 10m), whereas the PS4 over these 5 weeks in 2014 averaged 610k, it's a big difference.
Ha ha ha ha ha ha
Take that doom sayers!

The Democratic Nintendo fan....is that a paradox? I'm fond of one of the more conservative companies in the industry, but I vote Liberally and view myself that way 90% of the time?

Yeah the numbers don't lie, PS4 was at the top with hardly any contest it's launch year(and let's face it, the whole 8th gen). Though like I said in another thread - Nov. 2017 was a special case, with PS4 discounted and X launching, while Switch had no deals or sales. Take it as you will but the last few months other than those with a Black Friday in them have been led by Switch. I expect the same in December with PS4 returning to regular price and Xbox fading into the distance again.

So with 3 weeks left sold though will be around 12-13mil. Shipment of 14-15mil.

Still within my expectations. It's probably gonna diverge from my expectations by Q1 2019.

I may be getting confused if you're still talking about launch-aligned, but it doesn't sound like you are.
According to VGC Switch has only won 2 weeks outside of it's launch week globally against the PS4, The PS4 has led every single month globally. Switch has led months in America, but not even close globally.
