Those were hardware-based emulation, which the XBO does not have.

The original launch models here had hardware emulation, I can't speak for Europe as I don't live there.

They removed the Emotion Engine CPU and let the Cell emulate it in PAL countries, and later NTSC revisions

The Xbox One is doing partial hardware-based emulation. - All of the texture and audio formats are supported natively in hardware.
Which means... Microsoft was intending to do backwards compatibility before the Xbox One's launch.
There is also repackaging, interpreting and virtualization at play.

I'm gonna pass on this one. I don't think this series aged very well. I actually prefer the reboot to the first four.
