Forums - Gaming Discussion - FF VII has a decent chance to come to the Switch (opinion)

Most likely not, especially not the way it appears on upper tier consoles. Maybe if they do a Mobile version like FFVII and make it Turn-Based. Pretty sure there would be a market for that.

That seem like a lot of work just to feng shui a main title final fantasy game into the Switch. I can understand trying as hard as you can to downgrade the remake to get it into the Switch but changing the entire battle system for no reasons other than (and I'm making an assumption, don't take it personal) you really just prefer turn based combat.

Just doesn't make much sense, I think you're asking for a bit too much. I'd be easier to get the enhanced/PS4 FF7 port into the Switch.

I am neither a fan of turn-based combat or a fan of Final Fantasy.
I honestly don't think it is possible (reasonable) for Square Enix to put the full PS4 remake on the Switch.

In a turn based battle system:
You don't have to calculate AI in real time.
You don't have to worry about things like foot placement (inverse kinematics).
Developers can more naturally take control of the camera, so they can reduce what is on screen.

It is very unlikely. The game is being designed to push PS4/Pro hardware.

Even if it were ported, it would be severely downgraded, and i don't think that is how they want the game to be viewed.

Ain’t happening. However switch may get the original in HD.

You sound prety sure about that, especially because SQ recently said that every game with some adjustments can run on Switch and that they will not rule out any IP or game for Switch.

Tabata said FFXV can NOT run on the switch.

"Hajime Tabata: Hey did you read this story online that says I'm bringing Final Fantasy XV to Switch, using Unreal Engine?

GameRevolutionNo, I didn't. Is that true?

Tabata: No.

GRCan the Switch even run Final Fantasy XV?

Tabata: No, it can't."

So, i just goggled and the switch has 4GB RAM.

That is a huge bottleneck there for any and all open world games designed to run with 8GB.

Both of wich are actually less than those numbers due to the operative system.

Now, i don't know if FF7 will be open world or not. But, it will very unlikely even if it isnt.

Bethesda did a decent job with Doom, but don't take that as proof that anything on the PS4/X1 can run on the switch. Even if you cut the FPS in half.

I missed that one, and that's seem is last one, I remember this previous one.

I would not be surprised to see either FFXV or FFVII remake on the switch...eventually. If they make the Switch it will be significantly after the PS4 releases.

I think that's the result of a slight misinterpretation or mistranslation.

Such a mistranslated that he did yet another interview if I recall correctly.

https://www.famitsu.com/news/201709/24142632.html

"There is no plan to issue " FFXV " to the Nintendo switch "

I'm referring to the Eurogamer article which is I think what Tabata was referring in his interview about the Switch and Unreal Engine in regards to FFXV.
