I have my doubts that this will work. Looking at FF15 from a techincial standpoint, it needs to be lowered in visual quality to run decent on the switch. XC2 is pushing the limits of the hardware and that's far away from FF15. Not saying XC2 is ugly, it still looks good,but the art style is a complete different one. The mobile version of FF15 is, ...well.... not the same as the original content wise. I doubt people would enjoy it on the switch.
Alternative option would be for square to develop and exclusive version for Switch, but I doubt that will happen.

But, when will FF7 remake even release? Maybe the Switch 2 will be out by then.

I don't think so. They're not going to redesign just the battle system. They'll redesign either the whole game or nothing, and I'm definitely not expecting them to redesign the game for a console that's almost powerful enough to run it. They might port it if it's not too much work, but I wouldn't hold my breath for it.

Considering itd built on Unreal Engine, its certainly possible.

I dont recall it being confirmed as PS4 only.

We havent really seen what it is. Is it open world? Linear? Hard to determine whats so demanding about it.

Also, its running Unreal Engine which is designed to scale well for modest specs. Even the Vita did a pretty good job running Unreal Engine albeit with graphics in the ballpark of PS2 and OG Xbox. Like Injustice and Borderlands 2, which was fairly impressive for such limited specs. Switch already has some Unreal games as well.

So... I think this game on Switch is possible it would just need to be optimized and tweaked for Switch. Maybe it would be the exact same game with assets the resemble last gen, kinda like Doom.

meh i rather they bring the ff12 remaster(that i only just couple weeks ago found out existed) to switch than ff7 in any capacity.. while at it same goes for ff6 and ff9

I would say the tone is more of a: we are probably going to get it.

Personally I would much rather play FF VII Remake on my PC.
I can just see Square Enix doing whatever they can to cram the game onto the Switch.
