Forums - Sony Discussion - How much of SE does sony own?

Just curious, I read they owned 20% before the merger with enix. Do you think square still has a good relationship with sony for bailing them out due to the spirits within bomb? Think SE will "abandon" sony due to the slow start the ps3 has had and the fact that its not doing so well in japan at the moment?

It's down to 10%, I think.

Does sony own stock in other companies located in japan? I heard they were real tight with Level 5.

Certainly not enough for fanboys to talk about it like actually affects anything.

I don't know about Sony's ownership of L5, but Sony has published every single one of their games on Sony platforms.

I think Sony owns stock in Square, Level 5, and Konami. They may own some stock in Namco-Bandai, but I am not sure about that one.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson

I looked it up. It's about 8.6%.

I think Sony will buy Level 5 one day. It'll get them to focus more on Sony platforms instead of the DS and whatever Square wants them to do, and if you look at it Sony doesn't have a single in-house RPG team, and the only proper RPG Sony ever developed in-house was the Legend of Dragoon years ago. If Sony were to start looking to purchase an RPG team, Level 5 would be the obvious choice, given their history with the company.

Would make sense. Perhaps buy more shares in SE. If I was in charge they would be my main focus but this is sony here so they'll probaly end up selling their small percent of stock off to MS. How much does sony own of konami, if any? Also who is ninteno close with?
