Yes he has his own opinion but again he started the thread off with calling anyone who thinks that the Switch is eating PS4's sales as wrong basically by declaring it a 'myth' according to him immediately. Not much of a discussion to have if he already has his foot firmly planted on one side and won't even consider what anyone else says. Again, the thread was basically just "agree with me or you're wrong" from the beginning.

That’s what I’m feeling to. In fact, this and the media create thread are steering into really weird territory. Discussion is seeing both sides, not having one side state their claim and then reemphasize the same thing when others are trying to say something. I have no issue on people expressing how successful the PS4 has, and currently, been. It’s doing great no doubt. But let’s also not make backhanded excuses as to why the Switch is doing well, especially in Japan in which it took a while for the PS4 to even outsell the Wii U. All this talk about cannibalizing/non-cannibalizing, Switch is not a home console/is a home console/hybrid/unicorn/Big Foot/whatever, the need for an AMEX card to get further discounts in Australia, Switch is sold out/not sold out, etc. is getting out of hand.
I’ll say this. Switch and PS4 are doing well in Japan, Switch more so when you look at the rate it’s going at comparatively to the PS4. Now, announcements of Switch/PS4 games are starting to show themselves. In the end, seeing both succeed is great, right?
