I love the Switch so much, I'd make up new awards for it to win, too.

New technology?
Taking a look at this list, we find: low calorie ice cream, makeup for all skintones, a gym that also does medical tests, a wrist thermometer, the fidget spinner (which is just a centerpiece conntected to the arms with ballbearings), a lock that opens the door automatically when the key is close (huh, sounds familiar? That's because cars have been doing this for years), the Iphone X (which has the same features as plenty of other phones). I could probably find more examples.
All of those may be neat products that might not have had much of a market before, but to call them inventions? Many of those products (or something equivalent to them) have even existed for decades.
