They need to release gaming laptops ASAP that are cheap. In the UK the prices of gaming laptops are literally stupid.

There needs to be ones with Apu in about the 299 399 range and not 899 999

there are... they are just low end.

high end tech that is small enough costs a lot of money. just look at high end phones as an example

Phones have a huge markup.
But hey, is is not like you can make a phone yourself (with relative ease).

Well, that's true, they do. But so do laptops... and I can't make a laptop myself either :)

Excellent news, if a 15W average 25W top mobile new AMD APU can do that, 45W low power desktop models will allow to make low-cost, low-power consumption and silent entry level gaming desktops with more than decent performances. The final step doesn't depend on AMD, we need memory makers production to catch up with cryptominers demand and/or the current huge demand to settle on slightly lower levels, but still higher than before cryptomining craze, thus giving the market all the benefits of high demand and dynamism, but without the shortages that are unavoidable when producers are fairly sure current demand can't last, so they keep a more prudent production rate.

1080P display? That alone gives it a pass.
Max of 16GB DDR4 2400mhz Ram? That is going to hold back performance on the APU. Another pass.
2Ghz Quad Core with 3.6Ghz turbo speeds is okay, but nothing ground breaking.

On a laptop I think that's fine, scaling sucks in Windows, so actually seeing what you are clicking or typing is a plus.

Nope. Disagree.
All my Displays are 1440P or higher. Mobile Phone, Television, PC, Tablet.
The only exception is my new 3DS XL which IMHO is one of the worst handhelds I have ever owned.

Scaling in Windows is actually great these days, I have been using 1440P displays for almost a decade, so I am not exactly new to it.

4k here, scaling is fine on my end too.
90% of the issues have either been resolved or are irrelevant.

We already had this talk on resolution Pemalite: http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/post.php?id=8597015
But maybe it's improved with Windows 10, haven't check the scaling capabilities since Windows8/RT.

At-least you know my views are consistent. ;)

Scaling has been improved in Windows 10 though.

Another factor to take into account with resolution is battery life, specially for a portable device.

Got reminded of it while reading this, "There is a downside to going with the 4K version: Lenovo says you should get around 15.5 hours of battery life with a 1080p version of the laptop. That number drops to 10.5 hours for the 4K model."
