Forums - Microsoft - GameStop Nearly Sells Through Its Xbox One X Supply In First 24 Hours

Nearly sold out isn't actually a great sign for a system they've been hyping up for 18 months. I mean, I'm sure it's doing fine, but I can't say it's selling better than I expected.

As for my own little piece of anecdotal evidence, my Target got 8 and we still have one left.

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

So doesn't matter the numbers if it's nearly sold out in one retailer then it surpassed expectations?

If its sold out than either way its a positive to MS.

But it's not sold out. Gamestop has them, Amazon has them, Target has them. Nearly sold out and sold out are very different things.

Remember when a Sony exec said something like "If you can find a PS3 anywhere in North America that's been on shelves for more than five minutes, I'll give you 1200 bucks for it." and people were finding PS3s everywhere?

A console can do well despite not selling out. It's not a Sprint.

Did the New 3DS sell out on launch?

"You should be banned. Youre clearly flaming the president and even his brother who you know nothing about. Dont be such a partisan hack"

You remember the most random things. Thing's I've never ever heard of.

It is fantastic.

A gift and a curse. Usually it's embarrassing stuff I wish I could forget but every now and then, I remember something useful.

That's very true. I'm not saying the X isn't going to do well, I was simply pointing out that it isn't actually sold out, and that the implications that being nearly sold out and being sold out are quite different.

Ok, so 100 system sold but being sold out would already make it very positive... fantastic.

Maybe for you its not sold out, however for me, I cant find them anywhere, I am on a waiting list for the 2nd batch which has been sold out also. All I can do is wait for a cancellation. This sucks being a customer however we cannot denie this isn't doing very well for MS and Xbox.

Or in other words, the X can be doing a lot worse, however its selling majority of its stock, weather its MS testing the market with small batches or they actually shipped heaps, its a positive in both senses.
