@rocket--the problem with bending a knee to the minority is that more people will get hurt that way and wronged

its the lesser of the two evils to go along with majority rule

by your stance every serial killer and rapist should not be imprisoned b/c they are getting censored on what they feel is the right way

Rape and murder involves harm to another human being.

Media entertainment does not. The problem is that you're somehow equating the two together, pretending that they somehow share even the loosest link.

Again, the right to swing my fist ends where the other man's nose begins.

You know RP, you're talking about censorship being a good thing, with the exception that things shouldn't be censored from you. And i do understand your view. I'd take the same stand unless i'd know that the game is targeted to kids, who, by the way, will buy the most copies.

Where did I ever imply that censorship was a good thing?

Parents have plenty of warnings showing that material is not appropriate for children and in most countries, children won't be able to buy GTA IV. I don't know what more can be done. You can't retrain stupidity.

Now, you just gave an example yourself in the post, which i bolded. You also said that your parents let you read King and watch Clockwork Orange at pretty young age, and you continued it by saying that they saw you being capable to deal with the subjects, meaning that if they wouldn't see you capable of dealing with it, they would have censored them from you. Now, isn't setting an age limit censorship? Like i said, you're in for censorship, as long as nothing gets censored from you. Yes, it's illegal to sell 18+ games for minors here in Finland too, but what to do with ignorant parents? I know you will make sure that your kids, once have them, aren't playing games or watching movies at home that you haven't approved for them, but that's not the case with everyone.

Ei Kiinasti.

Eikä Japanisti.

Vaan pannaan jalalla koreasti.

Nintendo games sell only on Nintendo system.

^no that is a separate argument from my original stance...

that is in response to your statement that at some point you step on the minority

my original stance has and still is that the drunk driving part of the game should not have been put in b/c its not adding anything of value or art to the game but sending the wrong message to those that might not have the frontal lobe ability to get past it “just a game” stance….i still believe they could have just made him take a taxi or refuse to steal a car and still been fine in a game

I never advocated those labels, I merely stated that they were already in place.

Children and censorship are a tricky subject and not one I really care to tackle right now. This topic isn't about that, it's about adults being restricted.

Again, your opinion.

Who are you to tell me or anyone else what is or is not of value?

Nothing is wrong with wanting them to do something. Taking action against the game because Rockstar didn't listen to you is another matter entirely.

I noticed that earlier in the thread and got a good chuckle out of it.
