It's a hard subject to tackle, because I fully understand where you are coming from. I don't want anyone to get hurt just for a game I enjoy, but I also don't want to start down the road of censoring things because of the lowest common denominator. Guess I wish you could force people to take a test before they play the game or something, to see if they're dumb enough to actually be encouraged to drink and drive by its inclusion in a video game. Until that point though, I'm going to err on the side of keeping that aspect in the game as a whole, and hope that no ill comes from it.

i remember reading in EGM when they sat down with the Dev he was talking about some of the best parts will be going out with your in game friends then trying to make it home in one piece...its just not cool they should have sent a more responsible message that after a point your keys get pulled and he refuses to take a car and mumbles something about being to trashed

i once knocked a guy out so he could drive home (at my bachelor party..clocked him in the jaw square)

It's not entertainment's job to teach people responsible behavior.

it should be everyones job to teach not just ignore.....

No, people should strive to set good examples and be good examples of proper behavior, but it is not their responsibility to teach others how to behave.

I practice good manners but I'm not going to go around harassing other people or their children to do the same.

@WOW ---teach by example not by force is what i meant so i agree with you

and i don't think letting this be a part of the game is setting a good example for the younger kids that will get a hold of it....b/c we all know they will

Why release the game at all them?  GTA has never been a shining beacon of morality.

It's that kind of groupthink that keeps getting this world into messes it shouldn't have to deal with.

Only adults are allowed to buy Grand Theft Auto. Adults shouldn't have to be preached to on a continual basis by other adults considered more "intelligent" by governmental agencies.

Entertainment is just that, entertainment. Not all of it needs to challenge humanity and its thought processes. Some of us appreciate Rambo right alongside Citizen Kane.

^i agree with that but i know adults can handle most of the stuff and some of it while ....uncouth it wont equal out to the message sent by this part

i guess it bugs me b/c its more likely some dumb kid will play this age think drinking and driving isn't as bad as he thought since its not on the same level as droping a hooker

rocket the problem here is that not every one like Citizen Kane...just rambo

It's their business to like what they do and dislike everything else. It's not anyone else's right to tell them otherwise.

I'll be more than happy to call them uneducated idiots and troglodytes for liking shitty movies but I have no right to tell them they're wrong for enjoying that shit or try to adapt entertainment to fit my specified guidelines for what is considered "quality" or "educational".

well i guess we have to agree to disagree...
