Forums - Microsoft - There may be some unhappy XBO X owners on Tuesday

I doubt first party games sizes are related to laziness. They know there consoles inside and out. It could just be, you know, content? Gears 4 is even 100+GB on PC.

Both are Microsoft platforms.  So it could be lazyness.

I suppose it's a possibility. How much does the average person ps4pro enhanced game take up? I suppose not as many have 4k assets and textures though so pc and xbox one X probably have similar sizes for that reason.

Yesterday my box downloaded a 33GB update for Quantum Break and the game size is still 47GB.

Do you have the enable 4K update available? I'm at work but I took a photo of the screen with yesterday. I'll tweet it now but I'll delete it in an hour.

I'm @d21lewis on Twitter.

I don't know if I have the enable 4k update available. If it wasn't a 4k update then I have no idea why it even downloaded 30+ gigs.

I'm not on Twitter. Waaaay too cool for social media I am.

Well if the plan is to go all digital I'm expecting some huge hdd sizes next gen. I keep my games on a 4TB external but I may have to upgrade with these files sizes.

Love the product, not the company. They love your money, not you.

When even the dedicated video gamers/forum users feel the burn. The market is really overshooting what the consumer can and wants to handle.

Wow, I didn't even think of that. You ended that discussion right there lol.

While I don't believe in a portable PS4 regardless, it's not because of memory limitations. We have 256 Gb microSD cards and 512 Gb SD cards. They cost a shittonne currently, but space isn't a problem, and they will drop in price as time goes on.

That's not ideal for any consumer though. 256GB SD cards are about as high as people are willing to go right now for Switch. And what's 512GB if you can only store 3 games on it? Come on man, think. Even if they do have a physical medium it will have to be a cartridge and I don't know many developers wanting a 100GB cartridge to pay for. It just isn't going to fly. It's not smart.

Ha, I thought I would be ok for a while after increasing my bandwidth cap to 500GB a month last spring. It sounded like a lot 5 months ago. Yet shared with my streaming kids, I still won't be able to download these kinds of games. Heck a few years ago my cap was still 80GB a month... How did we ever survive.

But honestly it is not so bad for games,  Don't take 4k movies around 100 GB? I remember one of the first 4K movies surpassing 150 GB.

The price of high quality assets.
