If you talk about patch, then no. It doesn’t have improvements for original Xbox one of One s. The worst thing is that it is seems from what I’ve seen in the reddit discussion that in case of QB you can’t ignore this patch on One s. In order to play game you need to update it with this enormous patch which doesn’t make any sense. Most of games have the option to only download patches for one x consoles, not forcing it to One s users. Seems that Xbox One x enhancement was handled bad by remedy.

That's not true at all. There is a patch, even for the non Xbox One X version (40GB in size) but it doesn't make the game much if any bigger. Total game size on Xbox One and Xbox One S is 47.5GB (TV episodes not included).

OK. Seems like the guys on reddit took that 40GB patch as Xbox one x update. Though 40GB patch is not great also. You will still need that 40GB free  on your hard drive until the patch is applied to the main game

Seriously, there are a ton of data compression techniques for both textures and audio. Seems like many games artificially bloat themselves these days. If every game would use texture compression and .ogg audio (with the ability to download FLAC files for personal listening of course), we wouldn't have this problem.

Yesterday my box downloaded a 33GB update for Quantum Break and the game size is still 47GB.

Not on Xbox One at least. I had far less than 40GB available and it still updated. It probably overwrites files immediately after being downloaded.

Maybe. I’ve never paid attention to it.

If Nintendo teached those devs on how to fit all their content inside 3GB instead of over 100GB nothing of this would even happen.

I get that higher storage requirements are to be expected with higher graphical fidelity, but those numbers just sound absurd and lazy.

I doubt first party games sizes are related to laziness. They know there consoles inside and out. It could just be, you know, content? Gears 4 is even 100+GB on PC.

Sure the devs could make more effort, but even though 100 GB is quite massive, I don't think gears fan are worried that they need to use over 100GB to enjoy the most they can.

Both are Microsoft platforms.  So it could be lazyness.

Do you have the enable 4K update available? I'm at work but I took a photo of the screen with yesterday. I'll tweet it now but I'll delete it in an hour.
