Uhg. Nothing's perfect I guess. I don't like this emerging trend of physical games on the Switch requiring massive dl's to make them complete, essentially rendering them digital copies that come with a free box. Yet, I would kick an old man down a flight of stairs to have 256gb sd card support on the Vita for my digital needs. It would be so lovely to not have to deal with some type of compromise when the path to glory is so clear.

Not a chance in hell.

Can somebody clarify this for me, because Google results only seem to deal with game saves ( which is it's own separate Switch issue ). Can downloaded games be backed up to an external hd or pc?

Physical until they force me off of it IMO.

All my games accessible anywhere at any time is intoxicating to think about. But in reality, I won't touch a vast majority of games I play after I beat them. I'm out to game as cheaply as I can. Buy. Beat. Sell back (with generationally good games as the exception).

Most recent example is Mario + Rabbids. Great game, but I had little interest in anything outside of the main story.

$48 (with Amazon Prime) purchase less $32 sell-back price = $16 + taxes for ~15-20 hours of good gaming.

Buying it digitally, I'd be out $40+.

Mostly digital.
I wish I had bought Mario Kart 8 Deluxe digitally too; I hate having to switch cartridges to play games.

Does it matter in the slightest how you get the games? Does it make the smallest bit of difference to the game you're playing?

Why not check me out on youtube and help me on the way to 2k subs over at www.youtube.com/stormcloudlive

I like physical...my main complaints with digital are:

- I can't sell a digital game
- I don't know if I can "keep" my digital games if I have to upgrade my console HW 10 years from now
- I hate waiting 10 minutes for patches when I just want to jump in and play
- The storage requirements are frustrating

The others are nothing more than principles.  Point 3 definitely makes a small bit of difference to the game I'm playing.  I've actually switched* to another console and not come back until a later date because I didn't feel like waiting for the loading.

*Ha ha.

I buy only phisical unless it is under 10 USD for the AAA.

I have a better option! Don't get them at all!!

I'm already full digital.
256GB SD card and every game I own besides Zelda is digital.

I keep all my games on the card and I still have 173GB left after 18 games! This includes heavy hitters like NBA 2K (26GB) and Fire Emblem (13GB) and little titles like Sonic Mania (184MB).

So Sega should teach Nintendo how to compress their games.. there is no reason for Fire Emblem to takes 13GB  while Sonic Mania only use 184MB.
