Selling Horizon Zero Dawn for 20 bucks? Jeez, what a way to devalue your games, it's not even been out a year.

Hey, I'm not complainin' :P

Got a really great game, based on the reviews, for a sweet deal. This will be the next game I play on PS4 after I've beaten Persona 5 for the "lost count"th time.

A game sale, or a game having a price cut is a negative in your opinion?

As far as im concerned, we are CONSUMERS so a game lowering it's price is better for us, isnt it?

Unless you are interested in something other than what these corporations offer you, which are videogames.

A common trend that i've noticed from Nintendo enthusiast is that they defend the fact that Nintendo almost never lower the prices of their games, which is one of the, if not THE most silly thing i have read here.

Welcome to the modern AAA business. The only publisher left that doesn't sell their games for $20 within a year of release is Nintendo. It works for them, but the other publishers would rather have higher volume sales than higher revenue per copy sold, they want to get as many people playing their games as possible before the sequel releases so that the sequel will be even more successful at release.

I guess that makes sense, but it's kind of sad. I wonder how much total profit the developer made from the game? Honestly it's so good it should have been discounted at 45$ at most.

Also kinda sucks because I got it for 60$ in June right before it was discounted for 40$ xD

You bring up a good point there. Because these type of sales could easily backfire for these companies.
"I got Horizon 1 on sale for $20 and it was an awesome game. So, even if I am willing to get Horizon 2 at launch, if a wait a little longer, they might do it again and I may be able to get the sequel for $20, too!"

They are luring the people into buying The Frozen Wilds, the DLC for Horizon.

You dont have to feel bad for Guerrilla Games, believe me, they did profit from the game. A Lot.

This is just a marketing strategy to increase the sales of the just released DLC.

But this is nothing new tho.

Want the game Day One? You have to pay Full Price.

Are you willing to wait? You may catch a good sale.

I dont see why this should be a negative, it is just how the market works (Minus Nintendo).

I'm not saying it's a negative. It's certainly a positive for us.
It's just that there are pros and cons for the companies who this route.

In other news, the Neon Switch is back in stock and the effects are evident.
#12 and #14 respectively, while the Scorpio edition is still at #2 and the standard edition of the XBX is starting to fall out of the top 30 with stock coming in on the 12th.
It could very well be a case where it comes down to who can produce more stock, Microsoft or Nintendo?

Get Frozen Wilds too. It fits into the main game similarly to The Witcher and gives you a more complete game.

The PS5 Exists.

Switch isn't in stock, it's available for pre-order, though. It sold out back when Mario launched and hasn't seen a restock since.

Amazon stated Switch would be restocked back on Halloween, then it was pushed back to Nov 3rd, then to Nov 7th, then Nov 10th, and as of today it will be restocked on Nov 12th.
