Forums - Sony - Im no longer looking at Detroit early footage until launch

I know I want this game and I want the unique experience. I loved Heavy Rain and what it did for choice based simulations. I feel that for a game with such little gameplay, they need to show less scenes, but show just enough action that the audience will bite. I've already seen four scenes and Im starting to get the Heavy Rain feeling again. When I played Heavy Rain I felt like i'd already seen it all. They should be more like Tell tale and only release a specific amount of footage. Telltale releases epsiodes and you barely ever seen much of that one episode until the review.  Games like these have replay value, but because of the fact that you get all of these episodes and their clips are being put into the air so quickly  and shamelessly, games can easily be spoiled despite the depth of choice. Again, this is another area where I applaud Telltale. Can't deny that I love David Cage games though.

Anyone else feel this way or feel differently? Let me know what you think.

I wonder if there will be any chance of a VR version down the road? I'll skip it for now just in case. They put motion controls into heavy rain after all.

Really? How did the VR turn out? It would be interesting to have a full on expeirence in VR with David Cage games. OMG!

There is no VR version yet. Since he added move controls to heavy rain when move first came out, I'm kinda hoping he'll do something similar for VR. He said he was impressed by VR in an interview, however no concrete plans yet. I never replayed heavy rain with motion controls since these kind of games aren't all that great for replaying. Although VR >>>> motion controls. Still if I play it first on a screen, any possible VR version is going to looks like a massive downgrade :/

100% with you. Already sold on the game, don't need to see more.

I think that’s probably a good idea. I’m in the same boat; I know I want the game. It’s probably better to not see anymore to avoid spoilers.

Same here, it really has caught my attention and I don't want to spoil anything about it. That footage at Paris was messed up. I wonder what other scenarios will be in the game. Can't wait.

I've stopped looking at trailers for most games to avoid spoilers. Sure, if it's a side-scroller like Matterfall, or say, a racing game, I'll check it out, but if it a narrative heavy game, I'll think twice before looking at it. I wish I had never watched the latest Star Wars ep 8 trailer. Way too much was shown imo. Regarding Detroit, I did watch the initial trailer from.....( 18 or so months ago? ), and felt it didn't give too much away. Since then I've tried to avoid seeing any more.

I enjoyed Heavy Rain and Beyond so I was sold a long time ago and enjoyed all I've seen. I do agree due to the choice and narrative system I don't want to know too much as want choices I make to feel organic as opposed to using knowledge from E3 or Paris.

Detroit is one of the few games that actually has me a little bit excited to play.
