Are you kidding me? Why are they using an 8 GB game card when they could've easily used a 16 GB or a 32 GB one?

8GB represents making the same amount of profit as PS4 and XBone version. 16GB represents a little less profit. 32GB is something you need to charge a little more for.

Any $60 game can absorb the 16GB cart $1/$2 up charge if they want.

Thabns for the info.

Then they would be increasing the price.  I think LA Noire is using a 16 gig card. And they are charging $10 more.

So a 16 gig card would result in them charging $10 more, and still having to download another 16 gigs.

Good point. Still stinks, though.

I imagine this will be standard for most third party games, and they're only going to get larger. Though having said that a 24gb download is taking it way too far.

Wolfenstein 2 is 48gb on PS4, so I imagine there'll be a substantial download for that one too.

Is that warning label actually on the box art/all box arts that requires a lot of storage space? That would be depressing if in the future many/all Switch games you see in store all have that.

To me that warning says 'dont buy this sht unless you got a lot of space'

I believe Nintendo said that anygame that has a bigger download size than the internal memory storage is required to have that ugly label to warn customers that your internal memory is not enough for this game.

I guess this is something all Switch owners will have to get use to :/  Oh wells, it is what it is.

That these 3rd partys aren't using bigger cards reveals their confidence in the sales performance of their games. 2K n Rockstar probably aren't sticking around either then.

Ugh...I think we should prepare for a console with Nintendo games and indies, guys. Both have done a great job so far, so it might be enough for the core fans.

Every Nintendo system ever has been primarily about Nintendo games, so really no one should have expected Switch to be otherwise. Though along with Indies, it should still have decent Japanese 3rd party support by virtue of being portable.

Unless they get this card size thing ironed out, I don't think Switch third-party AAA gaming is gonna work.

Looks like I invested correctly in my 256GB sd card.

So what's the point of that physical game?
Totally waste of plastic.

So will the game even run without the download?

Why not go with a 4mb card with a splash screen and download key on it... Heck it could download the splash screen as well, 1kb card should be plenty! What's the point if 75% of the game needs to be downloaded anyway. Next up, box with download key, no cartridge.
