What will happen if your updating your PS3 and the power got turned off? IT says the PS3 won't restart but what else. And how do you fix it.

It probably gets bricked just like the PSP ... solution ? Buy another one ...
Vote the Mayor for Mayor!
Well your hard drive will get corrupted and your PS3 internal components will get messed up, which in result you picking up another PS3 :(
It would all depend on how much of the update had been installed, what part of the OS was being written at the time, and whether those sections got damaged or not. Also, the warning says the PS3 MAY not restart, not it will NOT restart.
Not trying to be a fanboy. Of course, it's hard when you own the best console eve... dang it

So Nintendo, Sony and MS will wait until we download an update, then they will get the power cut by the electricity company and there you go another console sale. The schemes these companies will go to to sell their consoles. LOL
If that bricks a ps3 console, I would be wanting a replacement from Sony free of charge.

Yes, sony can easily fix it. Now if sony will fix it under warrenty or if you have to pay $50 to get it fixed, I don't have a clue. Obviously they can put the first firmware on it, so doing it again isn't that hard, just time consuming.
