 Play.com has sold out of its allocation GTA IV pre-orders - whilst GAME and Gamestation’s online offerings have already put up warning of stock running low.

Play.com’s head of games Gian Luzio told MCV that the title was “far and away the biggest selling title” he’d ever seen on PS3 – but predicted the site would have more stock back in for the game’s release date of Tuesday, April 29th.

He added that it was “already proving a real hardware driver” – especially for Sony’s next-gen console.

Luzio told MCV: "This is the biggest ever title for PS3 by a long way - and probably 360 as well. I've been really blown away by how quickly it's sold on PS3.

I don't get this kind of articles where part of the claims are in quotes, and another part isn't... I'm talking about these parts:

"especially for Sony’s next-gen console."

"and probably 360 as well. "

Either the guy said that, or he didn't. If he did say it, why not quote him? If he didn't, why make up/embellish stuff?

Cool . But it was expected . GTA4 will help the PS3 in Europe much more than the 360 , but in the same time the exact oposite can happen in the US ...

Good news for both consoles :D

I don't want the game but I do hope it does great numbers on ps3.

GTA4 a console seller. Who would have guessed that...

Anyway, good news for PS3.
