Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo France: 'Plan is to sell 400k units in the next 10 weeks! (Botw 280k/ MK8D 260k ltd)

The translation is correct. For further reference and if I look at my French sales archives, BotW should easily be in the top 10 by the end of the year, although far from COD, FIFA and other big AAA. MK8DX should do the same and it has already far outsold what the WiiU version managed in 2014.

Yet Nintendo France seems over-reliant on 1st party games. I don't hear him on FIFA18 Switch, so I guess it underperformed. It's been behind PS3 and XB1 version since launch. Switch is weak on the 3rd party front in France like anywhere else. NF can celebrate while they can, the real fight against PS4 is yet to come.

Thanks for your wisdom, how will nitendo survive this ordeal? In other news pokemon is still a fad

So vgchartz seems to be overtracking these 2 games in France, hopefully adjustments will be made.

Nonetheless Nintendo is doing very good in this country and I wouldn't be surprised if the Switch manages to sell more than the PS4 this year (only in France though, not in the rest of Europe).

Unless of course they used VGC numbers prior to the last update and rounded down to the next 10k, which would result in 280k and 260k respectively - exactly what they mentioned in the article.

It's the director of Nintendo France who gave the numbers, why would he uses vgchartz numbers?

It's true that he doesn't specifiy at what date these numbers are, however he does mention that Zelda sold 97,000 units during it's launch weekend while vgchartz puts it at 103,960 units so yeah I still believe it's a bit overtracked.

I just flew over the text and missed that the numbers are from Nintendo france themselves, my bad
