Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Simple formula for Switch sales

Average weekly Switch sales = 118k + Japan

What do you think about it?

Wow

You know, when creating a formula you have to mention how do you get the number.

I think the current Switch sales is still fluctuating a lot so it's a bit hard to create a "simple" formula

A handheld gamer only (for now).

Does this qualify as a formula?

That its wrong.

Also that Switch will do more than 6.8m in 2017, thus your lowballing it.

This topic should be treated with a grain of salt, but the fact is that the sales fluctuations of NS is most influenced by Japan. And this is the average sales. Games such as Splatoon 2 and Super Mario Odyssey will greatly increase these stats.

It may be better to wait for an actual baseline figure. Demand is only just now being met in some territories and most of the VGC sales data is from August. That's the reason why Switch sales fluctuate so much. Supply more than demand. Probably best to try and establish a baseline once holidays are over and when there is no big game release.

Math is hard... have a cookie.

*facepalm*
Just because the only hard numbers we get are from Japan, doesnt mean that the other dont vary.US is for example its biggest market.

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.
