Forums - Nintendo - Famitsu: Super Famicom Mini sells over 368,000 units within first 4 days in Japan

Damm in 4 days reached more than 4 times the amount of Xone from 2013 to date

I imagine that owning an Xbox One in Japan is considered peculiar. I wonder if it is considered as the equivalent of Bart Simpson asking (wants) for that video game called Bonestorm and instead his mother buys him that golf game? Those in Japan who receive an Xbox are severely disappointed for not receiving a Sony/Nintendo product.

It is quite strange living in japan and owning an Xbox One, yes. I speak from experience.

The more of these news I see the more I think that I should bring my Switch to Japan and hang it around my neck. There is obviously some cultist obsession with Nintendo in Japan and I want to be on the safe side not to end as sacrifice.

Be sure to wear a naruto/boruto/bleach tshirt and plod about in downtown akihabara pointing at anything and everything and going in every arcade you see to really hit the nail hard on the head stereotype wise.

But as I always say, stereotypes exist for a reason, and if you did exactly as suggested I would have a hard time finding you in a crowd of other foreigners.

Is it true that people who own an Xbox One in Japan are people obsessed with Western culture? Like Japanas Ameriboobs?

I just heard that somewhere. Sounds like bullshit but it gave me an excuse to make the word Ameriboobs

I don't want to disgrace my tribe by wearing a shirt of some shitty anime. I have enough pride to take my Mio Dakimakura with me.

But in all honesty I will probably be too shy to enter any shops. I will probably do everything to not stand out as much as possible. Which isn't going to be easy being 192cm.

That is more than the Switch did! XD

I know, obviously vastly diffrent pricepoints should have had an effect and the Switch was heavily supply constrained. I think the Sfam mini is probably also a bit supply constrained, if not nearly as much as the Famicom mini or the Switch were.

Some yeah, most of the xbox ones sold here are to American military stationed here, as evidenced by second hand shops getting large stocks of used consoles each time a groups deployment is over.

Of course there's also casual japanese gamers that buy it, usually those gamers are more interested in western titles.

For the record some Bic Camera stores still have day one edition stock for the original console.
