When have Nintendo ever pronounced a sales target of 20m for 2017?!
Their current target for fy 2017 is 12 million. I was kinda hoping they'd do 14.....

The DigiTimes article was written based on a series of speculations and assumptions from a number of sources. There is no official word from Nintendo. Raising orders to 2 million units is one thing, but fulfilling those orders is another thing altogether.

Nintendo never projected to ship 20m units for the current calendar year or fiscal year. The figure is based on a Financial Times report, where people involved in the hardware supply chain claimed Nintendo were now targeting 18m units for the fiscal year ending March 2018. That would put the LTD shipments just above 20m, if they were to meet this target.

A launch date for China has never been confirmed. It could be early 2018, late 2018 or even after 2019. It's worth noting that China's console gaming market is still in its infancy. While the 56.7% growth in 2016 is higher than the industry average, it still has a long way to go before it becomes a major market. With revenues of $488m in 2016, it's still 5 times smaller than the console market in Japan.

The Switch U needs to come out so I can get a Switch at $99.

That is very indicative that next year Nintendo is gonna hit hard with games they know sell hardware. Yes, Nintendo knows what games sell hardware.

Nintendo hasn't confirmed any of this

No

While Nintendo hasn't confirmed anything as this is just a Digitimes article. If they have increased it to 2m a month nothing but positive things can come out of that. Nintendo is out of the time period where excess supply means bad things (like the Wii U launch). Now more people can get a hold of a Switch and less complaints and events like that is happening in Japan will be occurring.

Oh. So no confirmed?

So Nintendo selling 24M Switch per year? Sure will happen.
