My bet is a new IP. I wouldn't mind another DKC game, the last two were freaking good. But I'd love to see what they can make on their own.

The Switch is easily going to be more successful than the Wii U and this type of success will warrant more exposure for game franchises that members of this community like. Higher sales for overlooked games such as DKC: TF on the Switch will ensure more installments in the franchise. It's the same mentality that Sony used when they released the Nathan Drake Collection. I don't own a Wii U... but I played 30 minutes of this game at a friend's place and I adored the game. I would love to personally buy it for the Switch.

They're fun. You know exactly what you're getting with a port. No disappoinment. Just a game that you already love. Hopefully with less flaws.
Ravenblade.
I hope. I'd like them to work on a Western Style RPG.
I’m really hoping for a new IP.
If not a new IP, than a DK game in the likes of DK64. A spiritual successor of sorts.
I would love if Retro is working on another attempt at 3D Donkey Kong, preferably one that focuses more on pure platforming (maybe something like how Odyssey even has little mini areas you can jump into that are 2D only).
That or a new IP, I know a lot of people have been dreaming that maybe Retro will revive a Nintendo IP with a whole new spin on something like StarTropics or Earthbound or maybe even a complete new IP
I kind of wish NIntendo would let a few of their more 'serious' dev groups to experiment with more adult like games, more serious I should say. It would be fun to see what Retro might do with an attempt at a, say, a Sci-fi horror game with more funky elements than Metroid, or a horror game, or even an open exploration game in space.
It's weird because I feel like Nintendo lets a lot of their IP kind of sit dead (cough Fzero, Wave Race, Kid Icarus), but at the same time they tend to have a lot of their studios work exclusively on established series. Let more of them experiement on new stuff! or hell, maybe acquire some more studios? Nintendo probably pushes out more games per year than any other company in the video game market, but at the same time they're sort of expected to. I know part of Nintendo's magic seems to stem from their small team formula, they seem to have mastered something with having small development teams who can communicate well with each other. That said there may be such a thing as being TOO limited. I mean it's probably impossible at this point but, for example, why would Nintendo not have considered trying to acquire Platinum after Bayonetta 2 and the Wonderful 101 were both such quality products? even if they didn't sell gangbusters, still.
I am sort of hoping Nintendo is open to either putting some of their teams on more dangerous new IP attempts OR acquiring some developers who specialize in things they're not usually into. I dig Arms and Splatoon but they're sort of in Nintendo's wheelhouse. I think we're all dying to see Nintendo take a swing at a more serious action, adventure, or Open World sort of game. Obvs Zelda was a big sign that they're more than capable of tackling new things and succeeding the first time around
I don´t believe they are working on ports.
They are probably working on a new IP or helping Nintendo with their next projects, like they did with Mario Kart 7.
Last time on Twitter they just stated that they´re working on "something delicious".... who knows what that means?.....
