What do you hope/think they're working on?

My guess is that they're about to double-down on Donkey Kong.

Tropical Freeze port

a 3D Donkey Kong - something at the scope and scale of Mario Odyssedy or Super Mario 3D World

and Diddy Kong Racing 2 (supervising the project at Monster Games)

If i remember correctly after tropical freeze, Nintendo gave them the green light for a new IP

They are probably working on a new IP or bringing back another IP. Retro usually works on genres that Nintendo lacks in. It could be a sports game. However I do not think Nintendo will let that happen to make EA happy.

Retro is probably working on some kind of shooter. Whether it is a FPS or a Space Shooter is a another question.

I dont think theyre going to double down on DKC, pretty mich everything we know thus far is against that.

They'll have a new Ip, probably an RPG...and *maybe* a DKC game.

There's a case to be made that Tropical Freeze is the best remaining WiiU exclusive game, and it's easily one of the most commonly overlooked for a console that was almost entirely overlooked.

Of course, but unless it's a VC game, I don't want or think Nintendo even wants to continue advertising ports to sell their consoles.

If i had to guess,i'd say they will bring another franchise from the dead.It's what they mostly do.Maybe f-zero(but that's more a dream that i have than anything concrete).

Heck if I know, but what I DO know is that its has almost been FOUR years now, since they've been working on something new. (DK TP had gone gold by october 2013, ninteno just delayed it, because they needed a filler in the lineup early 2014)

I'd be excited if it was another DK game, but I doubt it. My best guess is as good as anyone elses, probably a new IP, maybe with a second smaller game on the side.
