I'm sure he'd care if the XBO was selling as well as the Switch, PS4 and 3DS there.

The latest numbers show the switch outsold the PS4 there by 2/1, but they also show the switch outsold the XBO, 1047/1, that's gotta be a bitter pill to swallow.

I don't think Microsoft will ever be surprised by Xbox numbers in Japan. The original xbox did a lot of damage there, not only was it a huge slab of a console which was never very appealling to the Japanese, it had to have a downsized gamepad to suit their hands and was lacking games of worth for the Japanese market. The xbox brand is pretty toxic there. If Microsoft ever comes up a with a portable or hybrid console they may want to market it as something other than xbox in japan.
