Forums - Gaming - Reggie calls out Switch haters and exposes them

How savage was Reggie?

Too savage, my body wasn't ready 53 56.38%

10/10 savage 41 43.62%

Well his excuse for last years NES Classic edition was complete bullshit but at least they are supposedly addressing that issue with more SNES Classic available and the return of NES Classic next summer.  Haven't been a fan of Reggie in awhile and wouldn't mind him stepping down for someone better.

"'Gosh, Nintendo, if you would've made more you would've sold more."

That doesn't sound like something a "switch hater" would say.  In fact, that is something the Nintendo hardcore fans keep repeating over and over here at VGC.

So I'm not sure to whom is this joke directed at.

Yea usually it is Nintendo is creating scarcity on purpose to try and create more demand.

Reggie says they have enough Switches in production to sell 10 million by March 2018. People are going to be scrambling for this during the holidays.

Well 10 million on top of the 2.7 million shipped last fiscal year so 12.7 million by March 2018 which is a bit better. Hopefully they still increase it though.

March 3rd was the start of this fiscal year for Nintendo. Wasn't it? Can anybody confirm this?

WTF is this thread even supposed to be? Oh and FYI this is why I'm against the whole "OP should add their own commentary" thing because that can result in messes like this!

It was never meant to be taken seriously, but getting accused of shielding myself from criticism is honestly fucking ridiculous.

Why would their fiscal year end on the 2nd of the month?

Pretty sure 1st April is the start of their fiscal year (as is the case for most companies).

I found it. Their fiscal year ended March 31st 2017. So that means by March 31st 2018 Reggie expects at least 12.75 million Switches launched. And keep in mind that Ninendo was originally aiming for 2 million Switches launched by March 31st 2017. They upped production and overshot that by 750,000 units. So if Switch keeps selling out like gangbusters, then I think we should hit 12 million Switches sold during it's first 12 months on the market.

Should happen fairly easily. The only thing that I think could stop that from happening is Nintendo not making them fast enough!

I think it depends on whether the bidding war ended or not. The massive iphone order will hopefully not be as damaging in the future, so we should probably see Switch production increase at a consistent rate.

12m for the first year seems reasonable. I'm expecting 14-18 for the second - maybe more

A lot of people have been hating on the iPhone X lately though. I think Apple will have their sales slow down quite a bit.
