I'm afraid I don't understand what you mean. Game elements being copied is happening all the time, it's only natural to some extent. How is a big studio copying a game mode worse than when an indy dev does it?

Yes, it happens, but not in ways that it's a direct clone of everything from top to bottom. The only difference here is that FN has it's crafting, it's own default mechanic sprinkled on top.

I like how we try to put everyone in the same boat, yet we still have bigger studios vs smaller ones, they aren't equals and never will be.

I still genuinely don't understand what the problem is. It's not like there's no difference between the games for the consumer. Back in the day every shooter was a "Doom-clone", it's how a genre was born. It's just the evolution of gameplay.

Which lends to subjectivity, as millions out there seem to think PuB is fine for them to play. Also the devs are still working on the game as well as it's animations, while FN has taken years to work on and is basically released as a "finished" product.

If i write a comment i am giving MY opinion, i dont care about the excuses for the bad animations people give and millions thinking this game looks fine will not change my mind, to me looks BAD , if its fine for them, well ...

Good for them i guess.

The game is getting i,mproved. A few months back they announced some improvments to the graphics.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isnt all of PUBG based on a mod? Isnt all of it just a polished, STOLEN concept? I don't mind that, not saying that, but it is what it is, right?

Except these days we've come far from "DOOM clones".

You're entirely missing my point.

Back then, FPS games were called "Doom clones" because Doom was the first real popular FPS game and other developers were taking a shot at the genre, taking elements from Doom because that was the standard. PUBG is now making the "battle royal" mode popular, so every game which adopts such a mode will be called a "PUBG clone". This needs to happen if this type of gameplay wants to survive. There is nothing wrong with other developers taking a shot at the genre and making their own version of it. It's called the evolution of a genre.

Not really missing your point. All you're rolling with is that it's okay to entirely rip from someone udner your wing and that both are exactly the same in what they do, both company and game and that it's entirely fine.

Nope, still missing my point. I'm saying devs are in fact not ripping anything off, but it's perceived that way because it's a new genre. If the genre wants to survive, other games need to incorporate its gameplay elements. Nothing wrong with that.

To you they aren't, but when you look at the actual trailer, yes they are.

Survival of the fittest is a weak cop out excuse to this debate btw.

Ha. Ok then.

You're saying they are ripping off the game, I'm saying they're not (otherwise Unreal Tournament would be a Quake II rip-off, which it's not). So let's agree to disagree.
