I'm actually stuck in a place where I am boxed into keeping the avy. I saw an episode of Gourmet Girl Graffiti and thought the art style was really nice looking so I used it as my avy for like, idk 2 months (this was around when I became a mod) -so by the time I changed it to something else people complained cause its what theyre used to, and cause it matched that it was a cooking show, essentially, and I have more food threads than most people have ever made... so Im stuck with it. Which puts me in a tough spot considering the show lasted 1 season, only had like... 15 episodes max, and wasnt crazy popular, so I'll run out of Shiina avys eventually XD that and I barely know much about the show considering I only saw 1 episode

My entire perception of you has changed after reading this.

Not in a good way.

What do u guys think of my avatar, time for a change? Also, how do I access my previous avatars?

I'll probably keep this one for a little bit. Which old one do you mean? The first Chun-Li avatar I had, or the one I had up until yesterday?

The one until yesterday

It really depends on the reason for the Avatar. Sometimes I'll attach a personality to them. Other times it's just something that I'm really into at the time or a passion. Other times I add a different meaning to them. For example I was rocking a Zelda avatar prior to Breath of the Wilds release and put some additional stuff in to the picture to add some very deep and symbolic meaning. Most people probably didn't know what they were seeing but it was something completely inline with the game while also making a statement. Another time I rocked an avatar when I was somewhat trolling and teasing a game with speculation.

I absolutely agree with the OP on how important Avatars are. Attach personalities to them. Let them give you some flair and vice versa. Though I'll admit I don't change mine when I barely active as of times right now. Mine is kind of 2-3 months out dated now XD

Hey Airaku! I think I remember you having an Alex Wesker avatar when I first saw you on this site.

Avatars reflect your interests, that's all.

Says the guy I had to tell to change his 144p Ike pic that he had for years because every new post it looked more pixelated than the previous one. :P

Damned if you do, damned if you don't. It really isn't really a situation I can win

Just change it, if you want to.

People will adapt pretty quickly.

I just use avatars that I feel reflect my personality and interests. On this message board, I use them to reflect my gaming interests, which change with my moods. I try to leave the ones I pick around for a while though (maybe a few months) so people can get used to associating them with me. I do change them though intermittently to give people more perspective on me over time.

So far on this message board I've used avis from Gone Home (my favorite game of all time), Night in the Woods (my favorite game from this year), Cosmic Star Heroine (mostly to identify myself with my age cohort), and obviously Metroid at present (the franchise that first got me into gaming, and which just happens to have a new installment forthcoming). On other message boards, I sometimes use game characters, but often not. For example, my current avi on one is a stylized image from the Wonder Woman movie, while I have also used YPG iconography in places to highlight my support for the Kurdish anarchists in Syria.

I'm fine with them XD I don't hate them. And I have no replacement anyway so it's all good

I have only had Okabe and Ai Enma as my avatars (on this site, I have used a fox and a shiny Charzard before too), I don't think I will use Okabe again.
Mostly because S;G is too popular now days, I don't want more than one person using the same face, and partly because I really like Ai Enma.

I think that Hell Girl has next to zero chance of breaking into wide popularity, and my stash of Ai profile pictures is much more interesting than anything Okabe could ever been in a still shot.
Ai Enma is very likely my avatar for life, from here on out.
And I will be using this particular picture for quite some time, before moving on to my next one.
It is so good!

Avatars are pretty neat: you can use them to either add tone to your posts or contradict them.
I see my avatar as one of three or so major aspects to my online presence.
The others being: my lower case username and my writing style.

Avatars are fantastic, your last one was better than your current one (it was really good), and I love my current one.

http://www.vgchartz.com/avatars/ There you can Ctrl+F for your username.

*Warning* I think some browsers load all the images instead of listing the filenames so it can be a very large page to open.
