Forums - General Discussion - Avatars, your thoughts on them, and their importance?

I think it dates back to the last site layout change.

Is there a way to shrink the pic?  I tried a few different resolutions of my pic awhile back as you can see but it always kept the same shape on the site.  I was trying to shrink it down some so I wouldn't take up so much damn space.  I have seen worse in the past though.

Don't really care either way. I usually see a persons avatar as something they like. Or they find funny. Nothing really important.

Your pic will always be resized to a 200 pixel width, the best way to control your avatar size is to crop the picture beforehand with sites like picresize.com

Avatars reflect your interests, that's all.

Says the guy I had to tell to change his 144p Ike pic that he had for years because every new post it looked more pixelated than the previous one. :P

Interests don't have pixel resolution. :p

But i admit. I'm too lazy to change avatar. I'm sure i could find some new art with FE heroes providing.

My avys, from old to new:

I don't remember the third and fourth, I think I changed them immediately.

When someone's avatar goes VGC-viral and people begin to photoshop the theme of one's avatars into their own, then we can talk about avatars being "important."

You mean like this one?

I only remember you from your 3 most recent ones.

Doesn't it work both ways? The fact that you don't have an avatar makes some people focus more on the fact that you don't have an avatar rather than your statements.

Yeah, I guess I was thinking of that myself, whenever I see someone without an avy, I'm thinking that they should get an avy

People can focus on whatever they want to focus.

No avatars for me.

Well, I don't even know how active you'll be in these forums, you've only posted 117 times in 8 years.
