"Equally is the delusion that you can use whatever words you want in whatever context"

well i never said that we could...

"The disingenious part of this arguement IMO is that I think it seeks to "normalize" racist rhetoric"

you are yourself normalising racist rhetoric... which is my point

There's a difference between noticing people have differences and "Oh I guess I'll just say n*gger or deny the holocaust".

But that's kind of the thing IMO shitty people tend to say because they know they say shitty things in private and could get in trouble if they ever were busted for saying certain things, so a general "well lets just say whatever we want, of course I'm too chicken shit to own up to the consequences though".

The internet in a way is the ultimate for that ... behind a keyboard it's easy to say whatever, but say that to someone's face. Very different story then.

but... you can say nigg*r without bringing race into it... for example a white person can say that to another white person...

"But that's kind of the thing IMO shitty people tend to say because they know they say shitty things in private"

i do say things that would be considered offensive in private conversations... as i assume everyone does...

and i'll repeat for the 40th time... i never said that saying things that are offensive doesn't have consequences...

and yes the point i was making before is that you are actually racist and the evidence are your posts categorising black people separately to white people

There is certainly a different between black history and white history, and where the N-word sits in that history.

"Seperating" that is is simply a matter of factual history, not "categorising".

He's annoying anyway, never understood his appeal

It's Millennials. They absolutely LOVE shit that's annoying. Especially effemenate nerd-males who insert random off-key singing notes into their speech on their youtube videos.

I should also note that it's popular to have stupid people recite their half-baked and innaccurate takes on large volumes of information in short periods of times, because tl;dr (or tl;dw in this case - and yet 14 hours of cat videos and other people playing video games is just fine.).

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

i said that you were a racist because you are identifying and treating black people as a group differently than white people, you are saying that black people have more of a right to say certain words than white people, for example

the definition of racist is someone who discriminates based on skin colour and treats people differently as a result

its relevance to what pewdiepie said is that he was not distinguishing based on race ( he didn't single out a black person and say it to them ), he simply uttered the word in frustration

I'm saying they have earned the right to do with that word as they please because they have suffered and endured under the foot of a level of systemtic racism that most people (myself included) will probably never be able to fully comprehend.

If I say someone who's lost a parent to cancer has a point of view that someone who's never experienced that couldn't really have, it's not to say they have more of a "right", it's more of a matter of fact.

Black people as far as I'm concerned have more than earned the right to decide what/how/when the N-word is acceptable in public discourse. It's not for some skinny white kid to lecture black people on how the N-word should be used because in their mind "racism is over, mmmkay". I don't agree with that reasoning.

well i didn't question your motives for being racist... i'm just pointing out that you are being racist while trying to stop racism

I'm not trying to stop anything. Racism exists and is alive and well today. Which is a matter of fact, not really opinion. Because some people want to plug their ears and say "lalalala, racism is over" doesn't make it magically so.

In relevance to what PDP said, he said it in a unguarded moment, which indicates he's probably using the word comfortably in private. Also he uses the hard "er" connotation which even most black people do not use as that is a full on racial slur. And from that and several other incidents over the last few months, I'd say PDP is building quite a resume that is indictive of his character (or lack thereof to be more precise).

Saying that word in that context says something about him as a person.

Being Racial and Racist are also different things. Because someone says that: "blacks can say blank" doesn't make the statement racist. It IS racial, however, as it pertains to differentiating races. It would be Racist if it were used against another race (such as "black people can say 'blank' because I think white people are bad"). Similar to prejudice ("oh look, there's a fat person") vs discrimination ("I hate fat people and will hurt one if I see one").

Two different angles. Just a little perspective one can consider.

ok if you take racism as negatively distinguishing between racial groups

isn't saying that a particular group can do something that another group can't, racist against the latter group?

for sure its not racist against the former group but it certainly would be against the latter i would think ( if you take racism to be negative discrimination based on race )

wow, why aren't you trying to stop racism?

lets say pewdiepie is a racist, goes around saying racist things in private and is an all around "bad" person, what do you think should be done about him?

Well straight off the hop, it's just not a factual statement in reality.

Saying "X group of people can't do Y" has been proven wrong, over and over and over and over and over and over again.

Within any racial group you'll find people that can do pretty much any field of endeavor you want to put forth.
